Cycles? Blender?

What on earth does this have to do with Corona for 3DSmax?

Thank you for your informative post!

I don't know if "Persistent Data" is a feature of Blender or Cycles. Since it's a pre-compute scene elements and caching feature I guess it could also be implemented by Corona.

Nothing?

Should I lose hope on this? Implementing "denoise at first sample" could result in a more fluid user experience in interactive rendering even if we're unable to use GPU. Is this hard to test guys? Thanks!

[Max] General Discussion / Re: New Corona Benchmark

My workstation is completely fine regarding all other traditional benchmarks. I still don't get this new Corona benchmark.

Can someone please explain why is the new benchmark better to evaluate performance? In the old benchmark, the performance was measured in seconds and now it is only in Rays/s.

A practical example:

On the old benchmark, the 13900k was around 37 seconds, and my current workstation was 43 seconds. A 14% difference.
On the new benchmark, the 13900K is around 13,000,000, and my workstation is 8,000,000. A 62,5% difference.

Have any tests been done on this Avi? Is it feasible? Thanks!

It would be great to be able to control tone mapping parameters directly in the unified lister. In my opinion, as it is now, it requires opening an additional dialog box which I don't find very practical.

Thanks Frood! ;-)

Does anyone know how can I call the Corona Render Selected (Pixel Mask) with Viewport selection selected from maxscript?

Are tonemapping camera controls planned for the Improved lister 2.0? I ask this because they aren't implemented on the newest daily build (2023.01.31).
Yes! A button to open tone mapping editor, maybe also reset, copy, on/off

Great Ondra!

Some suggestions if I may:

1. Set per camera resolution inside the lister with custom presets. (see https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=33385.0)
2. To be able to add and delete the camera parameters necessary to adjust to ones workflow.

Thanks!

Hi,

We have logged this as a feature request in our system if there will be any update on this, we will let you know.

Thanks Avi! I was hoping it would be something we could change already in the "Development / Experimental stuff" tab, for example. I guess not.

Not sure if this helps you, but these settings help me get the effect you're describing, without denoising. It's how Corona behaved years ago.

I already have that setup lupaz :-) Not quite the same.

Exactly romullus! Everyone works differently.

can we, as of right now, start the AI denoiser on the first sample in order to simulate default Cycles viewport rendering behavior?

But why? I do not see any argument in your message.
Why is seeing a low-quality, unrefined image worse than seeing the same thing just with additional blurring?

The argument is there. If the AI denoiser starts at the first sample, the interactivity improves even though the first sample has notorious AI artifacts that soon fade away, at least in my view. This combined with GPU support would greatly improve Corona's usability.
