I think Corona MultiMap needs ability to randomize maps per mesh element.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

That's telepathy at work here. I was thinking about posting that request today. Best would be to add this as an option in 'instance' mode so you can either instance or element or both mixed.

Is it possible that MultiMap could work with particles in future? That would be awesome.

Are there any improvements planned for the map anyways? There are some solid requests for it but no answer from Ondra so far. I'd love to know if he considers improving it further.

I think i remember Ondra saying per-element randomization would be quite complicated. I am not sure of it though.

Non the less, you can always add material by element modifier on top of the object and set it to random ID.

That is not always possible, unfortunatelly.

+1 for selection by elements in multimap, it will be a great time saver, especially for trees or vegetation.

Per polygon would be handy, iirc last time I had to mess around assigning random mat Id's to an object.
