Hi everybody!!! Happy New year,first!!!!   I have a problème with thé haïr matériel, when usinf "random mélanine" .. I was expecting for exemple somme darker haïr on clearer haïr, ans on fact, the result is that each SINGLE haïr bas horizontales stripes, liké a worm...Is it thé only possible result????

In fact, when I'm home, and can try different set up, the random melanin is not the problem... Well, I don't undrerstand why some hairs are so striped! see doc joined, and tghank you for help, as it's a problem on an assignment, and it's panic!!!!!

I think it's glint. Try to turn the parameter down.

As already mentioned, lowering the glint strength will help for close-ups. In my example the settings are:

Color:
Melanin= 6%
Random melanin= 20%

Reflection:
Glint strength= 0.02

I hope that helps.
