Thank you guys, the spline with X projection works great!

[Scatter] Feature Requests / Exclude Objects by XZ plane?
« on: 2022-12-15, 15:38:12 »
Hi guys,

I don't know whats the best way to achieve this right now but it would be really useful to just exclude objects based on a plane, so that for instance, all objects below water plane get excluded. Thanks

So I noticed Chaos Cosmos in V-Ray opens a dedicated menu inside the program (Rhino3d at least) instead of on the explorer. Can we please have the same thing on Cinema? It isn't practical at all to have it open on the explorer. Thanks!

Hi,

Is it possible to control the scatter distribution with a black and white mask? If so how? Thanks!

[C4D] I need help! / DPI option useless?
« on: 2022-10-18, 01:29:31 »
Hi, I wonder why we have the DPI input despite it not changing anything?

Hi, thanks. I am afraid that will not work. I have other slopes that do need scattering. Also my river is not so steep, it is more of a water steam.

Guess I will have to go with the old reliable Cloner+Plain Effector+Linear Field and scale by -1 clones that fall below -Y. Quite expensive as it has to calculate everything anyways and there is no camera clipping...  but oh well

It is actually so much more flexible to just sculpt topography and have your clones come up or not depending on your brush strokes. Imagine now I want to change the river direction and I need to sculp + create more splines....

Hi,

I noticed Corona Scatter has the spline option, but for sloped terrain drawing splines is not ideal, instead, I want to sculpt a river and with a linear field eliminate the instances that fall below certain Y value.

Is this possible? How would you approach it otherwise?

Thanks

But sometimes I don't let the render finish all 200 - 500 passes. I just save before...

This menu serves no purpose to me, I want to set the export settings before rendering, and once the render is done just click save.
Every time this pops up, and I need to manually change the settings for each image because it does not remember past settings...
Even if I create a preset, it does not remember that I selected that present, and I need to select my present again, for each image.

Also, why is JPG default set to 95% quality??

Is there a way we can get rid of this menu?

Thanks.

Guys, forget the water please! This is not about the water. The same problem happens when you have any other material as ground surface. The problem is the sky graduates from sky color to white, and there is no way to control that gradient, at least not without affecting the illumination of the whole scene.

Hi guys, sorry to bump this thread but I ran into this issue again today, I simply had to Photoshop the background with a sky photograph.

I tried the suggestions given to no avail. I keep struggling to just change the horizon without affecting the entire sky shader. Tried gradients and layer shader with another gradient as a mask, which honestly felt like a very long shot for something that should be very simple:

We basically need the 'Fake Horizon Blur' parameter to go negative, in order to decrease the blurring at the horizon, making it possible to have an almost plain blue horizon, with no white gradient.

Hi guys, I wonder why Corona is the only renderer that is not supported by Bridge. To import assets I often have to change the render entine back to Standard or other to just import and asset, and then change it back to Corona and re do the material. Not ideal.

Can’t Corona devs and Quixel devs have a chat?

That looks really good! Thanks for the advice. It is too much trouble if I ask you to kindly share your scene? Thank you.

Hi guys,

For learning purposes I am recreating some shaders I see online, and I found this one interesting.

I thought it looks like some kind of pine resin, with self illumination maybe?
And some sort of noise which controls refraction/sss/or maybe in diffuse color? So many options I don't really know how to approach it.

I thought the texture could be something like from a planet or moon, from this page: https://www.solarsystemscope.com/textures/
It also has some bump, but that is easy, it could also just be some planet topo texture for bump.

@TomG

Fake horizon blur parameter only amplifies the problem.
Volume effect does nothing to solve this.
Ground color as well does not help the issue (and affects the whole scene illumination)
Overriding visibility means using another image as a background which defeats the purpose.

Where can I color correct the CoronaSkyMap?

Thanks
