This is what happens when there is nothing.

Romullus,

I think I did what you had suggested and it came out the same. See attached. Thanks!

[Max] I need help! / Direct visibility override issue
« on: 2021-12-22, 14:54:54 »
Not sure if it is a bug. I have Corona version7 (Hotfix1)

When I use Direct visibility override, I use to create an almost black background so that when I select the inverted Alpha channel to cut the background out of the Corona rendered image it helps cut back the halo edge issues especially with trees and plants.

So I used the Direct visibility override, I get a partial black background and not a full one. See attached image. Is this a bug? Is there a work around on this issue? I'm also using Corona sun/sky.

Thanks for your help!

These look really nice! Lighting, modeling, texturing and composition are very nice!

The design intent was to create an eco-friendly, cost effective, off-the-grid cabins that are to be built around the Ozolini farm in rural Latvia. The Ozolini farm is a Latvia tea company that creates a mixture of unique herbal teas.

The Competition asked that the designers propose a design that would provide a comfortable living accommodation to a single person for 4-5 days. It had to be in operation for all seasons of the year, to contain a sufficient clear floor area for meditation. It also needed to include an area to store small amounts of food and water, alternative lighting options as well as a way to heat the place in the winter months.

Our design focused on being built in the forest area as well as around the small lake.

Although we didn't win anything it was a fun competition to be a part of and a learning experience.

You need from that shadowcatcher not a beauty pass but alpha channel what you may use as mask for shadows in composing software or photoshop. You already have render image what you need, so you can hide environment or exclude from rendering, just keep table and the floor with shadow catcher, you may also check direct visibility override to black(black background is need also to render mask without white borders)
so you will have like this, if shadows too bright or too big, you may adjust their levels in photoshop

Sprayer, Finally got around to it. Thank you for your help. I got it to work! Much appreciated!

Best,
Mike

Thanks, Sprayer! I've been quite busy today, so I will try and give this a try tomorrow.

Sprayer,
I attempted to set the carpet as shadow catcher with back plate being black, as you suggested. See attached image for results. I don't think it rendered correctly. Also see the original rendering where the piece of furniture was rendered in a room all modeled. Is there something I'm not understanding about the shadow catcher. The only thing I can find online as well as your suggestion was using it in with a HDRI. Thanks!

Best,
Mike

[Max] I need help! / Creating shadows for .png extension
« on: 2018-12-10, 20:39:19 »
So My client has asked me if there is a way to add shadows to a .png file. This is my challenge. Everything is modeled in the space I have this piece of furniture in, so the client has asked me to hide the 3d environment, which I did. I hid it from the camera but uses the hidden geometry to for reflections. So now they are asking if there is a way to add shadows underneath the object and still have a .png file so that they can place the image into another background but to have the shadow with it. See attachment. If any one has a solution that would be great. Thank you for your time.

Best,
Mike

Beautiful work! I really like the fluid image tool and the 360 VR experience and how you used split screen to experience someone using the GearVR and what he was viewing.

[Max] I need help! / Re: Cubemap rendering very bright!

Nope. Clearly inside the building. Like I said I can adjust the format size of the camera so It would only be rendering one side of a cube and it renders out fine. It's when I create a cubemap everything gets really bright and then turns all white.

Let me see if I can send over a sample so you can see what I'm talking about. I used the same camera with the same settings for the cube and rendered a spherical and it came out just fine.

No worries. I was excited about that too, because they told me a week or two before they had 1.5 running on there system.

Apparently they have announced that they are up and running with 1.5 as of today. :)

[Max] I need help! / Cubemap rendering very bright!
« on: 2016-10-13, 04:01:24 »
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I have checked off Override for Cubemap, enabled Virtual Reality mod. I have "enabled override" and "enabled effect" checked for bloom and glare

bloom intensity .5
Glare intensity  .5
Threshold 1.0
streak count 3
streak blur .2

I start rendering this cubemap and everything seems very bright like blown out and then turns all white and can't see anything. Now if I render individual frames it renders out correctly, using the same camera. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Mike
