Corona 12 - Recommended Scripts to avoid crashing

(1/5) > >>

CharlyRT:
Hi
I have been struggling a lot, but I mean a lot with Corona 12, its crashing every single time, with everything, moving objects, editing objects, editing materials, using Undo, open images in VFB, and a long list of etc. Every crash comes from CoronaMax_Relase-2024 or 2025.Dll. All files have been cleaned using multiple tools and always crash. This was not happening with Corona 11, Corona13 dailys have been beheaving similar to 11, but 12 its a nightmare.

I have reported this and the only recommended thing is trying reseting the ENU, this has helped me, but I have no access to any Script installed there, since I use alot this is very frustrating, so I wanted to know which kind of scripts avoid or which ones pay attention to.

TomG:
To be honest, it probably wasn't a particular script causing the problem, just sometimes the ENU gets in a mess due to Max itself and it needs resetting. That can happen even with no scripts (have had it happen to me). So most likely it is safe to set up all the scripts you used to use - though let's see what others say before you go and do that, just to get some more feedback on the topic! I do know the ENU can just get messed up "because", but perhaps someone has had experience where it was caused by a particular script.

CharlyRT:
Hi Tom
Thanks for answering, Corona12 has alot of bugs, I have sent a couple of files to support and the only recommendation that was given was "delete all plugins and scripts" I mean really? Also resetting the ENU every single time its not practical, I know that sometimes it gets corrupted and this solves mostly all of the issues, but c'mon its really frustrating, and this is happening very often and only when I install all the scripts, I cannot even save my configuration, every time Max crashes and delete my customized files.

For what I have tested, Corona 13 Daily its more stable, also Corona 11, but I cannot use them for work.

Once you have a stable environment backup your ENU, so if something does break in future you can revert your ENU without having to reinstall all your scripts/toolbars etc.

Every time you experience a bug, be it a crash or something else, please contact us at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new and provide all the necessary information. Most importantly, the problematic scene and at least one minidump file generated from the crash. For full instructions, please see https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/4649117083409-How-to-report-issues-3ds-Max

Could you please share the number of your ticket(s) where you were advised to delete all plugins and scripts? I could only find one old ticket under your forum email address.

If resetting ENU helps in your case, then it means that it was corrupted and most likely it doesn't have anything to do with Corona.

What exactly do you mean by installing scripts? What specific scripts are they? If the crashes start appearing once you install some specific scripts, this is probably some problem with those scripts, not 3ds Max or Corona.
