Has anyone been able to test the latest version of Cinema 4D 2025 with the forced Redshift? Does Corona work well with this version?

By the way, very unfriendly of MAXON to force a function on their users, which not everyone uses but for which they charge extra. I already pay for a rendering plugin (Corona) that suits my needs much better than Redshift, and therefore I will not use it. Give us the choice, just like before, to pay for Redshift or not.

I don't like subscriptions going up obviously. But the idea you don't want to pay for what you don't use isn't very realistic. I don't use 90% of C4D not to mention all the silly render modes aside Redshift they offer.

But,
Much of my work in architecture these days can be done with free software that is as good, better or much easier to use. Twinmotion, Unreal, Blender, Cycles and on. I am still with C4D & Corona since I acquired the skills and assets. But my competitors, younger people mostly don't pay for software at all and experience the older expensive apps as moving back in terms of features. Another group that is moving over to free software are those that are getting older and fear losing skills when the work gets less and the subscriptions become too expensive. I am in that group.

I have a feeling prices go up due to customers who left for the free apps leaving Maxon and others with a smaller group of users. Makes me think of Apple. When I started in Architecture and Graphic design you saw Apples everywhere. Now, almost all offices have gone to much faster cheaper PC's.

Cinema users are kinda spoiled, like I take it you guys have never used Max? Autodesk bundles Arnold with Max but people still pay for VRay and Corona. But also Max is more than double the cost of Cinema for a yearly. Is it doubly as good? In fact you could buy a year of Cinema, corona, arnold with free redshift and it would still be less than Max plus "free" Arnold.  Just think about that for a moment. If you use Cinema over Max thats $1K to play with every year that you wouldn't have otherwise. If anything, you run Corona in Cinema you have a powerful CPU only engine, then you have redshift if you every want to try GPU.

Depends if you earn over $100k, otherwise 3dsmax currently costs $450 per year, thats pretty cheap.

I make less. But don't see Max offered for something like 450 a year. I am in Holland though. Prices start here at around 2000€ a year.
Much rather have C4D/CR but would not be using either for 2k.

Hopefully this link helps:

Seems like NL is amongst the countries that are eligible for the indie pricing :)
