Hi, is it possible to share the scene (or at least part of the texture) so we can check what profiles are at play. And do you have a RGB value swatch of the desired colour so we know what is correct?

PS. I know its not very helpful to say this. But why would you use painter to create a simple graphic like this anyway?

I've added a 'idea' to the portal.

After downloading a coloured glass material form cosmos the other day I noticed that volumetrics weren't even turned on, so it was actually colourless. Such a simple problem that should be picked up by quality control.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Tom. I understand that they are Chaos  and not 'corona' assets. But as they are the only material and asset library that ships with Corona since the native library was discontinued - I really feel that they should be adapted for use in Corona properly.

I too think there should be a fundamental look at how the corona assets are being created for the COSMOS asset browser. They often feel like automatic conversions without the level of care and oversight that I'd like.

No need to rebuid - just turn off the light and use c4d multipass tags instead of corona's compositing ones. Then swap to C4d physical/standard. (Assuming you need masks from various object IDs, it wont work with other passes of couse)

I assume turning off any light bounces would help too?
TBH I've found rendering masks only from corona to be very slow to get a decent result. It may be worth using C4Ds native physical multipass system instead. This will render very clean masks almost instantly.

Hola.
When loading a bitmap into the texture slot of a material, there were always 3 buttons next to it. I used the Edit Texture & Reload Texture buttons almost constantly in my workflow to edit linked PSD files and make sure they were reloaded afterwards.

Since updating my software, they seem to have been replaced by the enigmatic and much less useful Create Shader and Select Shader buttons.

Does anyone know if the C4D 2025 update did this? Or is an update to Corona 12.

If it's Corona, please change it back :)

Yeah a lot of calculations will take a lot of time unfortunately. Where possible keep the glass as simple as possible (100% gloss, no bump or volumetrics for anything that isnt seen large in the frame). And as suggested above - thin surface on distant objects.

Hi - I've been trying to load a OSL shader into the normal slot to make a carpaint flakes type shader....With absolutely no succeess.
Are OSL shaders supported in the c4d version? If so what is the method? I can't find much in the doce...

I guess many are automatically converted from V-ray. But its pretty shoddy IMHO. It wouldn't take that long to check them properly for the Corona versions.

Many less experienced users will leave them as default. Or even use them as 'official' examples of how they should build their own materials. Both are poor outcomes.

Has anyone been able to test the latest version of Cinema 4D 2025 with the forced Redshift? Does Corona work well with this version?

By the way, very unfriendly of MAXON to force a function on their users, which not everyone uses but for which they charge extra. I already pay for a rendering plugin (Corona) that suits my needs much better than Redshift, and therefore I will not use it. Give us the choice, just like before, to pay for Redshift or not.

I find this pretty silly TBH. Every single DCC has a built in render engine. That Redshift was NOT the default seeme more unfriendly to me seeing that their leagacy Physical render was so far out of date.

Theres no reason that Corona will be effected beyond the fact that all new releases require a hotfix usually.

Dont want to confuse 'matters - but in C4D there is a dropdown to change the preview resolution in the material dialogue.
This makes it nice and sharp in the viewport.
Perhaps this is a shortcoming of max rather than corona?
