You can make gradient ramp to produce more smooth result (see attached image and example scene), but i agree with you, this sharp corner doesn't look sexy in Corona edge.

Hey, any improvement to get this skill only usinf tilemap? some button to make square gradient close the gap, inside the tilemap shader, to aovid the work of putting two linear gradients mixed every time??
thanks!

JG_monomiru:
is it possible to set different height for gaps/grout in tiles? like the vertical - 0  and the horiztonal gap 1 ?

Has anyone set up a realistic floorboards texture using the tile map that they could share?
I'm interested to see if it could replace floorgenerator and mulitmap as a way of creating hyper-real floors...

Thanks.

Hi. Can someone tell me how can I make a basket weave (3 sub boards) floor pattern with the custom pattern? I don't really understand how this tool works.

Thanks a lot.

It is possible, but for most of the standard cases, floor generator may be able to give faster/better results, as it actually models the boards. But it creates the wood boards ideally, if you want e.g. rough/uneven edges, tilemap will do it faster (e.g. noise map into grout/gap).

The workflow should be relatively the same - once you map the tilemap as needed, the rest is pure texturing. You can even use existing Corona/Cosmos materials (which are already pretty good) combined with tilemap to get very good results, depends what exactly you need.
