Hi,

I am looking for a new computer and I ask me want today the best choice it would be.
AMD, Xeon, i7 What is the difference?

Is something like that enough to get "fast" renderings:

I run Corona on C4D. I read "more Core, better it is", is that right?

Price not above 1500€ ;)
Do you have any suggestion? Thanks a lot.
Cheers,
David

i7 or Xeon are the best options. You can simply browse benchmarks online, or refer to this one:

AMD has unfortunately lost the performance battle some time ago, and had withdrawn from this segment. In some particular cases they offer value-oriented CPUs...but they mostly survive by selling integrated chips to 3rd party solutions and through their GPU division.

FX-8350 is OK-isch CPU on par with i5 with about twice power consumption. Not good choice at all.

With 1.5k budget (unless you're looking for used workstation on ebay) you can build workstation around LGA-2011v3 platform already. (quick example would be i7-5820k, 32GB ram, 256GB SSD, GTX 960, etc.. ). There are lots of builds on this forum already, I suggest to search through them to do a bit of research yourself.
