Super fast reply Juraj, awesome stuff!

I actually always try to do an overkill when it comes to cooling because I'd like to keep things cool and preferably silent (cooling is more important though). This is actually my first time going in and building a dual socket render node so I'd just like to double check things ... Your opinion, as always, super welcome!

I'll be putting everything into a mid tower so height might become an issue with bigger coolers. I just looked at the u14s, seems awesome so thats I'm going for.

Quick question, do you get a thermal paste with Noctua coolers?

Yes of course. I have so many of those tubes remaining :- )  [I don't want to throw them away because it's toxic, and I am lazy to go dispose of them properly]

Most good mid towers can definitely take u14s, but check internet.

But which motherboard do you have ?

I've revised the cooling section in my blog, maybe have quick look.

Juraj, man, sorry for the late reponse!

The motherboard we ended up with is a SUPERMICRO MBD-X9DR3-F-O SSI EEB. We fitted it into a Full tower that supported the E-ATX + EEB form factor. Of course, we totally forgot about the ILM size (narrow, rectangle) but then again if you don't go full in searching for the type of socket you have then you probably won't do it right the first time anyway (hah!).

Right now we are waiting for the new Noctuas that support the ILM we have.
