That aspect of the IR is not complete yet - more work on IR will be coming in Beta 2. Basically, the same functionality as seen in 3ds Max is what can be expected (that is, IR window can be resized, the actual render will fit that size, so you can use a smaller IR than your full size render to give faster results, plus I would expect things like the zoom-focus when IR is started and so on). Definitely a known item :)

Cheers for the info! I recreated your scene, using the parameters for your light from the video, but everything works normally here with the same shadows in IR as in offline rendering. Could you upload the affected scene? While unlikely given the simplicity of the scene, any chance that any of the objects or scene itself was created in an earlier version?

What version of Corona is it? What are the light sources in the scene? Does it happen in all scenes, or just this one? Thanks!

On the arc of white, not sure of the cause, one question comes to mind - does it change with the DOF? If you strengthen / weaken it, or change the distance, does that ring move? Does it go away if DOF is disabled? Is it still there with a default CoronaMtl?

For distance, don't forget you can use an object to set the focus distance in the new Corona Camera. This can either be an object in the scene, or a dummy object - the target object can be animated too so that the focus moves during an animation. In terms of strength of the DOF, that still comes down to the aperture etc, just as in the real world, but the focus target object is very handy for setting the distance itself :)

All working normally here, tested with Max 2018, Corona 2 Daily Build Jan 8th - any idea if this happens with other render engines for you, in case there is something up with the Max install?

Only way I can think of is to render twice, once with the object set to cast shadows, once with it set to cast no shadows, then use a mask to composite the shadow version of the object only over the scene with it set to cast no shadows. The snag I can think of there is that reflections could be tricky, e.g. the reflections would still show shadows cast by the object into the scene.

I don't have the crash any more either - my one was just in a new scene with an HDRI added, and that works fine now. If any user is still having a crash with the latest release, please send in the scene to us! :)

So which conclusion?
Not correct noise report with DR render?
And quality is OK?

Looking at Marcin's results, that's how it would seem to me - the rendering is ok, but the noise level reporting is incorrect with DR, giving a higher value than it should, so it continues rendering even when it has hit the needed quality, as the noise level still shows as too high.

Are you perhaps rendering an animation sequence, so the rendering goes on to the next frame in the sequence?

Hi all!

Beta 1 RC 2 gives me the Corona error message pop up "Rendering multiple frames (e. g. animation) into Corona VFB but no output is specified and VFB history is disabled - subsequent images will be overwritten! " - saving is disabled, but the error message doesn't apply for running IR, only if running a final offline render. C4D R19 Windows 10.

I had it happening in a scene with Corona Proxies, and when I removed those, it worked normally again, so that seemed to be part of it at least, not sure if that relates to what you were hiding and unhiding :)
