The data isn't passed to Aha, any more than the data for signing here on the forum is passed on to Simple Machines (the makers of the forum software). The Aha pages are part of Chaos, Aha is simply the software provider for the code that runs the pages. If you are logged in to chaos.com, there should be (as I understand it) no need to log in to Aha in any separate sense - try heading to chaos.com, ensure you are logged, then head to the Aha pages and all should work without anything asking you to sign in. If that doesn't work and you don't have access to the Ideas Portal, do please send in a ticket at https://support.chaos.com/requests/new . I would do the same thing if you still have concerns about the data privacy (though I can assure you all this will have been thoroughly checked by the legal team) - send in a separate ticket with your questions and concerns, for a more full and proper answer from those who handle that kind of thing directly :) Thanks!

Be sure to enable Temporal Consistency whenever doing an animation (basically it means the scatter stays the same over time). Though it may not be the cause here, but it is a place to start :)

I can replicate it here, and tried various things such as geometry optimizers, retopology, reset xforms, redoing normals, subdividing terrain, subdividing water plane, making the water plane smaller,  etc. Some of which reduces the effect but doesn't remove it. So far my best guess is it is related to how these planes are ALMOST but NOT QUITE coplanar, due to the low angle of incidence between them (if you scale up the landscape so that all the features are "taller" then the unwanted effect goes away, and sometimes you can see a bit of z fighting flicker in the viewport with clay mode on with the scene as it is). Could be wrong though.

This is possible in Corona too, but we take a different approach. Rather than choose object properties to define the object as a shadow catcher, we use the Corona Shadowcatcher material - paint the plane (or any object) with this material, and then you can achieve the same result. So, same thing, just applied as a material rather than creating an "object properties" menu. See https://docs.chaos.com/display/CRMAX/Corona+Shadow+Catcher+Material . Thanks!

Thank you for the extra info! Hmm still haven't spotted what is different. I'm on Windows 11, just to check that (BLADE I see you are on Win 10). The support team may well have other questions or info too ofc, I am just trying to narrow things down a little in the meantime. Also, yw on the old VFB still being available! We definitely wanted to keep that there with this initial release of the VFB 2, in part so that folks can update in the middle of a project and not have to get familiar with the new one, and in part in case some issues pop up like here.

I work remotely so these are the only monitors I can test on :) However many of the team work on dual monitors and if this had come up, we'd have noticed. I'll leave it to the support folks to dig deeper and find out why it is happening on particular machines. Thanks for the extra info that will help in diagnosing!

Didn't say it was a C4D issue, was simply looking for why it works 100% ok on my dual monitor system and not on the two here, and so trying to find what the differences are. Do either of you use Windows Scaling at all? (I don't, it's at 100%).

"Will you ever get to this point your "short list"?" is something we can't answer, everything gets re-evaluated every release and we don't know 100% in advance of planning a release what makes it into that release and what does not. The status of the Idea will update if and when it makes it into the plans for a release, so be sure to follow that :) Thanks!

All is fine here on dual monitors (4K, identical monitors, VFB 2 on either monitor is correct). One thing that stands out to me is that I am using C4D 2024, but you both seem to be using older versions?

Just a suggestion, I would advise against using a shortened version of a name that means something else. VR has an accepted meaning of Virtual Reality, which left me rather confused on first reading this post. Calling it V-Ray would have avoided that confusion :)
