very good work . gorgeous . bravo
how did you create the background mountain ?

Thank you for the kind words! Corona was used to render all the characters and skyship assets and sets (internal and external), while Terragen handled the environments.

Hey everyone, it has been a while, but I am happy to report that Cyan Eyed was recently released on the Dust Youtube channel, and in two months has now gathered over a million views!

It is also over 100k views on CGMeetup too.

Yesterday I also released a Breakdown video that shows off how some of the shots came together:

Thanks for watching!

It has been a long time coming! CYAN EYED is finally available online here:

Over seven years in the making with a crew of over 100 people including the geniuses from Skywalker Sound, I am happy to finally have everyone watch it! Everything except for the background environment (landscape and sky) is rendered in Corona

Also some good news as the film has just started its festival run, yesterday it won Best Short Film in the Australian Effects and Animation Festival Awards (an international award competition):

General CG Discussion / Re: using corona passes in nuke

You are using the Zdefocus node incorrectly. The 'filter' input is the shape that the defocus areas convolve to, not the input of the depth pass. You need to channel in the ZDepth pass into the 'depth' channel. It is also a good idea to dilate the aliased zdepth pass by 1 to 2 pixels to avoid edge artefacts.

Oh, maaan! When? =)

Very soon! The only tasks left to do are comps and a couple of FX tasks.

And here is another sneak peak at some of the promotional art coming out soon.
