Hi guys,

Found a small bug.
Whenever you add a multi-sub material to one of the Blend's material slots, the multi-sub material becomes unsupported.
I've added a screenshot of the problem below. Problem persists in 1.00.01.

[Max] Resolved Feature Requests / Landscape / Slope shader
« on: 2015-03-12, 20:33:45 »
Hi,

Was just wondering about the option to have a landscape / slope shader.
The landscape shader in mental ray for example is pretty complex but could probably do with some Corona-style simplifying.

Of course anything extra that could be added would be awesome. :)
Although nothing comes to mind immediately.

[Max] Tutorials & Guides / Corona 101
« on: 2015-03-12, 17:41:29 »
Hi guys,

I created a 3-part tutorial series going over some of the basics in version 1.0.
Most people here will probably already already know all this stuff, but it might be good for new users.

If you have (constructive :p) suggestions on how I could improve on these in the future, I'd be happy to hear them.

General CG Discussion / Re: [Useful Scripts\Tools]

Hey guys,

At the moment it's not possible to use VrayHDRI.
If I find some time I'll look in to it, but for now just the standard 3ds Max Skylight I'm afraid. :)

Great script, saves a lot of time setting things up. :)
If we could only have a Corona multi/sub map type thing to go with this. *cough* *cough*

News / Re: New VFB skinning

One other thing.

Up until A6 the maximised (fullscreen) VFB window was borderless.
So on a 1920x1200 display I could view full HD frames in all their glory.

Now with A7 it still has border when maximised, resulting in a scrollbar at the bottom.
Is there a specific reason for the window border? It just feels like a step back for me.

[Max] Resolved Feature Requests / Re: Corona UI Defaults
« on: 2014-06-12, 15:52:49 »
When switching it to mental ray for example, it changes the default light settings to use "Ray Traced Shadows" instead of "Shadow Map".
Or for a better example when you create a Daylight System it uses "mr Sun" & "mr Sky" instead of the default sub & sky.

Afaik Vray has this as well, and it's just nice to have default on Corona without having to set up a maxstart.max file.
This way you can have different units in different scenes for example but 3ds Max is still defaulting to Corona. (Which a maxstart file will try to override)

Once I get some time this week I'll look into it and report back.
It would be awesome to get this working, massive timesaver for animations. :)

Oh cool, I must have missed it.
I'm assuming it supports the frame number when rendering animations?

Cheers!

Or maybe expose the "Resume from Dump" option via maxscript?
That way a script could be run at the start of each frame, locating the proper EXR and resuming.

This could be an amazing feature to speed up turnarounds, showing the client the rough comped work and just resuming approved shots.

Apparently it's running on 2 Titan's.
Pretty cool stuff, a similar technique was used with Vray RT on the making of Construct.

For those who might have missed it:

An animation this time, building on an image I'd made previously.

[Max] Resolved Feature Requests / Corona UI Defaults
« on: 2014-04-03, 10:22:46 »
Are there any plans to create a default Corona UI theme?
In Max you can switch between them using Custom UI / Defaults switcher. I prefer this over using a custom maxstart.max file. :)
Most third-party renderers provide this, so that's why I was wondering.
