Hi Aram, there's a little minsunderstooding in my request/romullus answer...I agree whit the fact that "the faster the texturing, the worse the result will be" but I'm expetting better results in complex ground (in this case) materials. I expect a better "faster" workflow than mine if there are alternatives. Thanks.

Hi all, my question is related to a blurry effect of displacement in complex materials using some maps like randomizer, distance and triplanar.
An example:

- I create a ground material using PBR maps as bitmaps/randomizer textmap to avoid ripetitive patterns/triplanar map to obtain the better UV from non planar shapes;
- add other ground material with different maps (i.e. grass for orizontal faces, rock for vertical faces, mud for road tracks);
- blend all materials in a layered material using other procedural maps like just mentioned AO, triplanar etc.

Now, with all these blending steps I loose sharpen displacement behavior.

How you prevent this? Or better...do you use different procedures to obtain better results? Thanks in advance.

hey guys you do realise all your links dont work for the new videos ?
https://www.chaos.com/corona-academy

They are not meant to work as links (e.g. right click to open link in new tab, or copy the link and paste it). They will only play as pop-ups on the webpages themselves. If you mean something else though, let us know. Also, they were incorrectly trying to open as links randomly for some, and that has been fixed just today (we hope!)

Why not like the vray tutorials series launched in this days on the chaos youtube channel? Is vray more practical than corona this time? :)

Instead of blurring you can try to play with the gamma value using a color correction operator (low gamma value= streght shadow, high gamma value = soft shadow).

[Max] I need help! / Layered material issues
« on: 2023-07-19, 14:52:55 »
Hi, I tryed to blend 2 materials by layered material and a mask.
Unfortunately AO map ("only other objects" option) not works properly whit displace outputs (blend all layers) and triplanar maps. If I use any other type of "procedural" maskyng (e.g. a distance, a cellular etc.) all goes like a charm.
Corona 10 here.

Good news...every user will benefits from that

TyFlow lives from 1 year and is the new booster for max...corona users need to profit from it. MB and instances are the first pass and Tyson is surely open for any collaboration between developers. Please, make render funny again and again!

Not a dome light but a dedicated Environment lighting tool, a more clean draft render mode (like light cache+light cache) would be useful too...my 2 cents.

Hi, is that comparision right?
I'm not shure because of the corona output looks too dark respect to original textures and playing with gamma intensity  breaks jpg tests.

If you are looking to use another VR app to view the renders, then you will need to check the documentation for that app on any EXIF data it may need.

Hope this helps!

Hi Tom and thank you for reply,
the bette way I tryed to share "stereo 360 vr" at moment is youtube for mobiles and GoPRO VR viewer for desktop.
Actually my goal is google cardboard...unfortunately this type of exif datas are too hard to insert for me.
Your beta app could be a good alternative but I need to cover the ios field too.
So, my research continues...

Hi, is corona vr render immediately readable from an android/ios cardboard or necexsites of exif data? If exif data is necessary, how to solve? Thanks.
