I am very new to C4D and Corona renderer. If you see the attached image you can see materials with striped patterns and circles all over the surface of varing sizes. How do I create that using cornoa materials? I want to be able to repeat a pattern I make as a png be added on materials.

Thank you so much!

Same way as you'd do material for Standard /Physical engine. Then simply copying Textures from Reflectance to Reflection channel of Corona Material. Or vice versa. Using either procedural or static approach. Both work.
ie. these are all procedural - (Physical vs Corona renderer):

2x Surface > Tiles > Circles 1 for Polka Dots & Lines 1 for Stripes
1x Noise: Voronoi 1 (clamped) is used to get more random dot pattern

Thank you so much! This was very helpful :)

Q. What if I want another material below these stripes? Do I have to use a layered material?

It depends on what you're trying to achieve.
Personally, I would prefer to use stacked material tags.

There's no right or wrong here. It would depend on how detailed you want your material to get. If you just plan to add an extra texture below the stripes then my colleague's suggestion should be more than enough here ;)
