Beautiful Mauricio!

One small comment. At the base of the lower building, it's just flat. Where your beach image has small shrubs there, which look like they would be in front of the building. Maybe just a bit of masking to bring the shrubs back on top.

Ah, SketchUp to Max, I love them both but hate them both!

Have you tried merging your current scene completely into a new Max scene? This can clean up corruption sometimes.

As far as I've tried it doesn't work will with the 'overlap'. I would second this request. Example could be using it for shingles on a roof or siding. Maybe you need to do a post in the Requests category.

Beautiful work! I love the small touches of Lego men and the Vader mug!

One small critique would be the UVMapping on the sliding door, the vertical wood slats seem to have the grain going the wrong direction (rotate 90°)

Amazing material work, great job! Thank you for sharing!

UPDATE:  I'm getting my computer to freeze, just by having an active 3D app open! This may be a dang video card issue after all. I have two extra of the same video cards laying around, going to try swapping out, see if this one is shot. Then, it's waiting for a new video card to get shipped.

Beautiful work!

I just noticed two small areas that stood out to my eye. The first is the antler chandelier: there seems to be a channel split (red/blue like old 3D) not sure if this is a DOF effect. The second is the blurriness through the glass doors to the windows in the other room. The reflection is nice and sharp, but the refraction glossiness seems a bit rough.

Can you also post the pictures of the errors here? Maybe they will be familiar to some users?

I am working with Marcin with a ticket, but I'll post them here as well in case others have similar issues.

The most recent update from Microsoft for Win10 had some effect on my crashing. Corona seems to now be the portion crashing/failing, as I'm no longer receiving a Max dump. I get two errors: one related to a missing drive which is weird, because I've never had any other drives, and the files I'm using are original creations with only items from my own computer; the second is a .NET error of some kind (which I'm not surprised about with Win10 4.6 .NET)

But what happens is, I get the errors (repeatedly, about 16 times) then that's all. I can still use Max, save my files etc. I can not however save the rendered image through the Corona VB, I can transfer it to the Max VB and save it from there.

Either way, I see this as progress.

UPDATE:

Unfortunately all my errors are still occurring, just not as quick. However, I now have a new error that does specify a .NET issue.

My theory is Win10 and Max (installed onto 10, no upgraded)

May have figured out my problem!

It may be tied to my video card after all. After reading many internet posts regarding Win10 and Max, I switched away from DirectX and tried the Legacy OpenGL.  It rendered for 5 min with no crashing. My CPU did warm up quite a bit, so I'm going to put some new heatsink compound on it (it's been a few years).

I'll keep you up-to-date on progress.

EDIT: Yup, just rendered a 4000x4000 image with displacement for 30 minutes. 100% of 16GB RAM used, still working. Guess it's a new video card time, and more RAM ;)

[Scatter] I need help! / Re: Help Please Corona Scatter

No really. That would be completely messed up if the strands would be curvy. Also, an editable poly made of 80k strands or so is not a good idea. :)

You're absolutely right Maru, but that's why I put 'fake' ;)

If he's like me, I actually prefer NOT having all these extra plugins/add-ons/etc. The more you have the more you have to worry about with making sure everything renders. Too many errors over the years. Just a preference. So, I'm used to faking it LOL

Technically it can work, you would just lose your Proxy and Scatter options. Under scatter you can just hit "Convert to max geometry", it creates instances of the object. Select one, make it unique, then attach all the rest. Add a Planar UV Map and voila, a Fake.
