Hello. I am using the Alpha v6.1 free version. I have tested the cpu with Cinebench and V-Ray, and temperatures in my i7 4790k are between 65º-71º. But testing Corona with a simple scene, the temperatures go crazy above 80º.Any advice?

You can buy better cpu cooler or just take advantage of that fact: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,7239.msg57821.html#msg57821 ;]
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

Your CPU should be well cooled even if it's under constant 100perc. load for 24/7. So that's got nothing to do with Corona, or any other software for that matter. Just because other apps don't stress constantly to 100perc. load, is beside the point when it comes to poor thermal performance.

1) If you already have good CPU cooler, the issue can be with how it's seated. Try re-seatting with new thermal paste in such case.
2) Check if you have proper air-flow in Case.
3) Buy better cooler. Highly clocked i7s with constant multi-threaded load are demanding. Big Heatsink tower oriented outside (vertically for maximum airflow, or horizontally for silent performance) with 2x 140 fans capable of running 1400rpm.

Thanks for the answers. I have a CryoRig R1 Universal cpu cooler. I have tested with MentalRay too, and all software run at normal temps (65º-70º) at default turboboosted 4400 MHz core speed (x44 multiplier). Corona is the only renderer that overheats the cpu and speed ups the 2 cpu fans.

IMHO 80 degrees is not too much, it's inside security limits, also try to use some synthetic benchmark that stress the CPU at full 100‰ use, or try Blender cycles in CPU or Maxwell render, to see how they behave.

Cheers.
