I have been reading up a lot on surface details and how that affects how glossy/blurry reflections become including brushed surfaces. I decided to experiment by using only bump or displacement maps to influence how blurry reflections can become but I have noticed I still need to enter a value in the glossiness to get the desired effect. I am guessing the bump/displacement details are not tiny or fine grain enough or Corona only renders with glossiness parameters specified?

EDIT: Seems a glosiness map or surface roughness map is required to get the end result. Seems bump maps cannot be used to specify surface roughness or glossiness using Corona.

Thanks. Is there a way u have it display while rendering but when u save it does not save with it?

Hello, I decided to go back to Corona for a few renders after using Mental Ray.Only to discover that when I save out the render, corona saves it with the system spec and render time at the bottom left corner of the image. Is there a way to turn this off or u would have to crop it in Photoshop?
If I recall correctly,this wasn't happening before.

yeah, but... it isnt a simple process, it would take a LOT of time to do it right.

I know it is gonna be hard.I have always repected software devs.I can't begin to fathom how u guys use codes to create a software that noobs like us can use.I call it magic.I am sure Corona will gain a lot if something like this is added.I really hope u guys consider it and I know it will take a long time to get it up and running.More power to ur elbows,guys.

Btw,does anyone know the settings that was used for alpha 4 benchmark scene?I will like to try it out with my scene to see if I can get a reasonable quality at a faster speed.

Hello all,I am using Corona for my final year school project.Sadly,there is no corona on our render farm in school so I was wondering if there is a way u could tell ur pc to render.
I am using an Intel Core i7 -4700MQ@ 2.40ghz with 32gb ram, and a Nvidia GTX 780M of 4gb ram.
Will this be enough to run multiple frame renderings?
Also is there anyway I can get the render settings for the alpha test scene.I understand some tweaks were made to get it to run faster.If I can tweak the settings to get faster render time.That will be awesome.Right now my scene takes like one hour to render out with very little noise.I need to render like approximately 4 secs at 25 fps.I am rendering like 4 cameras for that scene alone.

Any advice I can get will be deeply appreciated.Thanks.

@Juraj_Talcik
Yeah,I am thinking of trying the noise filter in AE first though I am doubting I would get good results from it.Has anyone tried the free version of neatvideo.Is it able to get most of the noise out or u need the pro version go get moderate results?

@rampally
Yes,that would really increase corona's popularity.The inclusion of the corona material converter is one of the best features they have added to the release.It saves u a lot of time.Little apps like these help strengthen corona's features and ranking among the popular renderers right now.I would say if there are able to come up with a free app that u can remove the noise with especially for animations will help most ppl considering using it for animations and might also arouse professional companies interest in using it not just for archviz but for feature films and animated movies.
I really hope they consider this because I know if they do create something like that.It will surpass what neatvideo is capable of.

I was wondering if someone could give me a rough idea of how much it will cost.I don't want to start using it intensively only to find it is beyond my reach when it goes commercial.

i meant if u render out an animation from corona and there is noise. what would be the best way to go about removing them in post production?

Hello,All.
I am a student currently looking into using corona for my final year project.I am interested in using it for future projects.I understand that there is going to be a commercial version this year.Is there going to be a free version and how much will the commercial version be? What I am working on is an animation and if I intend to render an animation in considerable time,my renders will have a lot of noise.
So does anyone know of a good technique that can be employed to remove the noise in say AE.There aren't much animations done with Corona at the moment but it would be nice to know how to go about this with the best results possible.I have heard of Neat Video,I am wondering if the free version is any good.Are there other plugins one can use?It would be nice if Corona devs add a small standalone app that comes with corona's install that can remove noise.
I am really loving this app.
