Saw this in my e-mail and thought, fantastic! I'd like to spend some time learning Corona better. Nope. Not a single Corona video. Only V-Ray, Enscape, and Vantage, at least so far. You couldn't come up with even one Corona video or is that not the purpose of the Academy? Just curious. If that will not feature Corona, why send it to a Corona user? Seems pointless for me.

Now I have to watch the news to get my excitement down again.

Even though Corona seems to be doing better much  than Vray :

Better amongst one render farm users who took the survey. I wouldn't draw too much conclusions from that.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

I indeed hope not being a C4D user.

But the survey does align with my own experience here in The Netherlands with architecture studios.
And there are over a 1000 votes in this survey of which a majority is from 3ds  users.

I see a growing userbase for Twinmotion and D5, apps that are cheaper and easier to use but render fantastic results in their own specific way as well.

All that is fine, but when you are a paying customer for years, it would be nice to be invited to the party. Also, I feel that Corona is underrated as a render engine in areas other than archvis. Since it can run on almost any computer, it's pretty versatile and surprisingly fast.

Corona is indeed fast in everything but the actual final render. In my case that works better and faster than the other way around.
Redshift is a little underdeveloped for Archviz.
The new Mac are also getting seriously fast. So the render speed is for still images not really an issue as much as it used to be years back.

But the costs for Vectorworks, C4D and CR are getting a bit much. Especially when I get older with less clients or in between jobs I don't want to end up with all my skills lost or keep paying thousands of euros each year.  I have to come up with a solution for that, maybe unreal, blender, twinmotion. Twinmotion does really wel these days, try this with C4D/CR if you can :   https://www.instagram.com/p/DDw011LOELv/

There's nothing in the Chaos Academy because we are already ahead of the game, with the Corona Academy at https://www.chaos.com/corona-academy which has been running for much longer. The Corona Academy is also a dedicated, unique series of videos that go further and take a different approach from our YouTube channel, and between the two you should have training and learning materials that are every bit as good (or even better though I say so myself ;) ) than the Chaos Academy ones. There should be a link from the Chaos Academy pages to the Corona Academy btw, let me know if you weren't seeing one.

Thanks!

Thank for that info Tom. Those look great. You are a gentleman and a scholar. ;-)

I probably missed the link to the Corona Acadamy.

You are welcome! Should be some more Corona Academy videos real soon, though we still have to wrap up some YouTube vids for 12 Update 1 first! At some point I'll double check that there IS a link from Chaos Academy to Corona Academy, and how visible it is, juuuuust in case :) Thanks!
