or just use height 25m ( to solve the grey line in very very first image), for me that solves the grey line you get with 0m altitude.

overall if you need a custom sky solution (the build in never can give all possible solutions) why not use a bitmap image as BG.
this works great, i also use that here and there a,d you can perfectly fine tume it to your needs?
Nope, can't be done w/o tinting & otherwise fine tuning.
Why I requested for more direct control - "Sun & Sky Color tinting"

well the grey line (from ground) that is seen in first screen shot disappears for me when i use some like 25m altitude,
(i was not talking on colors or how bright the horizon is or not)

Ah, yes, I too was confused at beginning, but few posts back OP have made it clear it's just about gradation.

Would be best, if title gets changed accordingly...

i think it is mainly about the water.
the imperfect cgi water is almost flat and reflects (at this angle) the horizon.
while in reality you have waves and the far way reflection will reflect with much smaller angles the center of the sky
this not easy to solve, displacing the sea is not very efficient.

I'm not totally disagreeing with your issue, but there is more going on in Mother Nature that we as 3D artists add to our scenes.

I think one of Mother Nature's trick is that the Earth is not flat...?
