Hello,

Any ETA on this? We're going for years without this feature for c4d, 3ds has it for a long time now. It's probably something most ppl don't care about cuz they create their own materials.
I understand that developing for max is more important cuz the majority uses max, but the C4d users are getting screwed having to pay the same amount monthly and getting less.

I checked the roadmap for future release and all there is "a pool of big ideas" no updates on the matter.

thanks.

Hey everyone!

Thanks for the interest, we are well aware of the fact that Corona for C4D is sorely missing an official material library and we're investigating what the options are. After all, we don't want to hurry a half-baked solution for such an important part of the software. We will share more information in the following months.

I hope I'm not oversimplifying the feature - but surely all we are asking for is an officially maintained lib4d file? So yes some manual labour up front to create the c4d equivalents to the 3DS ones but then surely not too bad once the initial push is out of the way?

In the meantime, can I suggest Poliigon's material plugin? Not sure if you use their textures at all, but it's well worth the monthly subscription imo. 99% of their materials look great out of the box and it saves me a ton of setup time.

I think this desperately needs to be implemented. What I would love as well would be a place to store materials as well to use in other files. I don't like having to open an old file to copy and paste a material, and then copy and paste all of the textures over as well. It would be much easier if it worked like Substance Painter where all of the materials are stored in the library at the bottom, and you can add your own materials as you wish, and it stays for every open project to easily pull in.
