What I meant was this is an outdoor scene where most of the geometry is lit by direct light from atmosphere. There is a lot of secondary GI going on for example in interior shots they are usually more noisy. In your case, you could probably disable GI and the render would probably look more or less the same.

1. almost no visible GI bounces
2. jpg compression ;)

Maybe TrueGI (R) (TM) or REALIGHT (C) ?

But seriously, maybe something like uniform light processing? Equal light handling? :D

Here is a collection of some animations done in Corona:

Yes, try with 8 and don't go lower than 4. You can always region-select your area of interest not to waste time.

Room scene - wow!

I think this should look much better on your machine. Be sure to follow these steps: http://corona-renderer.com/wiki/performance_debugging
Good luck!

To have nice smooth reflections (especially glossy), detailed textures and detailed geometry you can try lowering PTS but do this only if you have lots of time because this won't be optimal time-wise setup. :)

Um.. So you can just compare two 1:1 images.

Apart from .jpg compression I can see your image's scale in vfb is 1:2 which means we are looking at it downsampled. Corona's vfb probably handles downsampling (zooming out) different than photoshop. Maybe this is your problem?

Can you provide an example of where vfb image has different noise than opened in photoshop? Maybe you are saving with different gamma? (this happens for example if you have output gamma 2.2 in max and save to .exr or .hdr with default settings)

Try switching to pt+pt when rendering exterior scenes without lots of GI bounces going on. Maybe you will feel more comfortable this way but it still depends on your scene. :)

I laughed so hard. Guys, better keep it calm or Keymaster removes MSI and max ray depth forever.

btw, nice clean render, good to see such stuff produced by first time users

Corona will never stop by itself unless you set a time limit or pass limit. That's the point of this rendering engine. :)

Sexy! Is it part of some bigger project or just your personal work?

Max ray depth: 28 - now we know Juraj's secret! ;)
