Hello, I have a problem with a "Banding effect" in the sky gradient of my rendering (I attached an image). I use Corona sky. I am saving in Tiff 16 bit but I can still see it in photoshop. Also, in the last release Corona 11 I cannot find the color profile menu to check if it's working with WideGamut.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi,

Interesting, indeed I can see the same effect on my test render as well. I don't know how to get rid of it. Of course it can easily be blurred in post production but this effect shouldn't be visible in the render for obvious reasons.
I use Corona 10HF2 and saved the render as 16b tif.

Is there a particular reason why you want to use Widegamut? sRGB doesn't fit your needs?

It happened to me too. I'm not using clouds. Just plain sky.
Big problem when you heavily do post production on the image later on.

3ds Max 2023 - Corona 11.

I think is a problem with Corona Sky. I think by default Corona now is already in WideGamut but still this banding effect in really annoying and by blurring the image is not always a great choice

Hi, can you check if you get any different results using 3ds Max Native sun and Sky and rendering with scanline render? If you are getting any different results in the previous version of Corona or using different sky models, feel free to let me know, and we can investigate it further.

Meanwhile, to remove any banding effect you can follow this article.

It happens with Scanline and 3ds Max Native sun and Sky too.
With Corona, if you save in TIFF 16 bit, it's almost imperceptible.
