This is an old scene I've digged out to play around with the new VolumeMtl... well, postwork escalated a liiiittle bit and I'm completely unsure if it is too much color, too weird in terms of composition or spot-on. Every time I look at it, I see it differently... as you may already know I like saturated contrasty lighting but... I don't know... I think I just have looked at it for too long ;)
C&C are very welcome!

I love it, only one thing is the paper sheets, too stiff. The rest is awesome

Don't know, maybe it's colours, but it instantly reminded me this image: fairy and snake.

Good work, as usual!

Where does the electricity for the lamps come from? Hum?
You have to think about those little details to make it realistic! :Þ

I like it, looks great. Great colors.

I like it, the colour contrast is Really bold but I think it's really suited to the image. VolumeMTL looks great! Yet another corona FTW addition. Great work...and a genuinely interesting image!

Wonderful concept ! :) Love the angle, and colors. I agree with the Stiffiness of the sheets too. Maybe, personally i would put floating particles in the air (dust). :)

Thanks for all your comments guys, I'm glad you like it :)

mhh, yes, you're right. Didn't see that myself. I think, when I modeled the scene, I didn't bend it so much because they would intersect everywhere all the time - but it would be a good thing to work on!

what was the render time to clear up?
About 2h in 1920px height. It would have rendered a lot faster if there wasn't the VolumeMtl, it's currently producing a lot of noise in GI.

Don't know, maybe it's colours, but it instantly reminded me this image: fairy and snake.
That's the neighbors, they do all that weird stuff in their cave ;)

Huh, that's a great idea! I'll try that, thanks! :)

Hey, this looks a lot like a illustration for some nice books from Walter Moers, is that correct?
