i think not...i've only the option spherical image.....i'm using corna 1.3
VR Camera is currently only implemented in the daily build. Upgrade to that and you get the function, or wait a month till official 1.4 release.

Also, currently starting work on an application for a realtime architect - client review system. Bought a crap ton of phone vr viewers, that can fit into a letter to be send to clients via mail like 1 image attached.
Might do a review from an archviz standpoint. Also, don't buy Cardboard A viewers, or models that are resold with that construction, like image 2. They are awful, compared to Cardboard B models, that were released on Google I/O in 2015.

Hi thank you for the information, i'm very interested on application for a rel time...
i bought a cardboard called trailblaver v.2 but i decide to take the samsung gear vr,  have only one doubt which mobile phone to pair it with... you have tips?

thank you

S7Edge is by far the best option in terms of screen size, PPI and better heat dissipation (doesn't overheat much, or at all). The S7 still overheats sometimes. Expensive though...

Also, here are some tips I found elsewhere:

Some things that help:

turn on airplane mode
turn on "Do not disturb" in the Gear VR "back button" menu
set brightness to 6 or so
play in a cooler environment with air movement (with a ceiling fan or desk fan blowing on you)
reboot your phone just before using VR
allow your phone to cool after downloading/installing VR apps or Google Play apps
turn off "auto update" for Oculus Store and Google Play Store so that apps are not downloading while you are in VR

Hi Alex,
Nice to see you again.
Thanks for the tip. Very cool.
Could you share your settings for this animation.
Best,
Dzung

Hey. Nothing out of the ordinary at all. UHD set to animation flicker free mode, noise set to temporal (this might be the wrong choice for denoising. We're testing currently), coronaportals... nothing unusual.

Great study, thank you for it.

I noticed that in 300/75 pass

The shape under the lamp changed, and the curtains look better in the 75version.

My question is, is there a way to save linear exr when denoising?

No problem.

The curtains one is probably because there is more noise in the 75 version, which helps to make the fabric read like it's textured (which it is, but maybe very subtle).

The shape under the lamp - how do you mean? Looks more or less identical to me. Especially when in motion.

Not sure quite what you mean about the linear exr when denoising, maybe someone else can help with that.

[Max] I need help! / Re: Camera Tilt Shift

That is what you need to do if your target is not level. But the better way to do it (usually) is to make sure you use a physical camera and then go down to the Perspective Control section and use the Lens Shift tools. Note that these sometimes don't work in the viewport properly especially when using DOF.

No problem guys, hope you find it useful.

new pc... got the 2017 trial at the moment, will be doing subscription next month.

You can install a max license on 2 machines. You could just uninstall 2017 and install 2016 fresh. Should be fine.

[Max] Tutorials & Guides / Denoising - Guide & Comparisons
« on: 2016-04-20, 12:38:00 »
Hi guys,

We just published an article comparing denoising on/off and the significant time-savings you can achieve with it, which also contains some simple tips for using this new tool.

Hope you find it useful!

Thanks all!

MG - there's almost no post at all on either stills or animation. In the animation we added some very subtle vignetting, a little bloom and the dust motes. But visually they look basically identical to the raw renders. That's our workflow for all projects.

Specto - yes that list is more or less all you can do, and all we do.

We are going to post an article imminently covering some of these tools. Will post here when it's ready ;) (later today hopefully!).

Cheers,

Anyone noticed that denoiser can have quite significant impact on performance? It gives less passes and worse picture compared to image rendered without denoiser in the same amount of time. I was under impression that denoiser impacts only memory consumption and adds extra time on render end, but it seems that's not entirely true.

Can you post some examples of this? For us that's not been the case at all.

Thanks guys, will keep these things in mind! Cheers

Corona Bitmap does not support bitmap sequences and thus does not support .ifl files.
Use native 3dsMax bitmap instead.

Figured it was this. I wonder which is the least bad situation - max bitmap or vrayhdri loader..

Hi guys,

As per title. I'm trying to load in a EXR sequence into the CoronaBitmap loader, but I'm getting:

Could not load texture file: R:\RESOURCES\HDRI\HYPERFOCAL\Sample Frames\0850.ifl
Reason: Unrecognized bitmap format in filename "R:/RESOURCES/HDRI/HYPERFOCAL/Sample Frames/0850.ifl"

Works fine using VRayHDRI loader.

Cheers,
