This is a first peek at the improved scatter object, that is part of the Corona package.

The first task I decided to tackle was to make the scattering follow a texture map.

See the attached image:

It's taken a while since I have a day job, and I'm doing this in my spare time. I have lots of ideas for this one, but for today, this is a good first step.

It's nice to see progress on this! Will we be able to test this in dailies, or we have to wait untill it's fully finished?

It's still too early even for an Alpha preview. It has to be made a little more robust for now.
Currently it follows the 'active' texture map. But what the definition of 'active' is, is buried deep in the MaxSDK. I would like it to be any texture map on a material, not just the diffuse texture, but maybe any user specified map.
