Hi guys,

Is there a way to randomize the color of leaves in a tree model in order to get more natural look ?
It is possible in vray, thought the process of doing it in vray is a bit tedious.

I'm on R20 Broadcast

Peace,
Kobi

The native C4D Variation shader should do the trick (in any render engine). I can't say whether it is limited to only particular versions of C4D (broadcast, studio etc), though I do know it only appeared in more recent versions, but is definitely in there in R20 Studio.

The variation shader is only in the visualize & studio version, not in the prime & broadcast :(

So I understand corona doesn't have a build-in system for such a thing...maybe I'll post it in the wishlist

I tried to use the uvw randomizer, but since there is no documentation for corona shaders   I didn't succeed to do anything with this shader....

If Corona for C4D has multimap shader, then that's what you need to look for. UVW randomizer isn't exactly for colour randomization.
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

Earlier I used the plugin kendoshader https://cinemaplugins.com/c4d-plugins/kendo-shaders/. I don't know if it works on R20.

Now I use variation shader with C4D studio version.

Shader Variation is for everyone (Prime include). Since C4D R17.

Well, It's a mistake...
My friend has a copy of the studio version and he has the variation shader. I have R17 Prime + R20 Broadcast, both of them don't have this shader

Of course, Variation Shader has only Studio and Visualize versions. It's a big lack of a Prime version, and there's no way to address it directly in C4D. Vray has Vray TexMulti, you cannot load the entire texture folder. The only way to do it in Prime is the Kendoshader plugin, or am I wrong?

The Kendoshader doesn't support R20
