use it only when you want to create unrealistic results (like flat lighting with HDRI reflections, or vice versa). Never assign the same map as for the main background. It can influence the result only negatively.

I think the arrangement of the two pictures is somewhat unfortunate, I cannot unsee it as single interior with really weird table :D

Good quality for both renderings. And yes. The desk is a bit confusing. Looks like there should be storage and drawers from one side, but if you look from the other - emptiness!:)

Yes, It is all CG. I used Corona skatter, and a very lot of different plants and trees.
