The crash at cleaning is still there for me....
It's becoming a bit awkward after all this time

Hi,

Are you able to send me a minidump for the crash?

If possible could you also provide me with the scene in which you are experiancing this crash?

Thanks,

Rowan

Hey,

New Corona build allows manual disabling of Render Elements during IR, they instantly dissapear from VFB and crash max.
Previously it had no effect on the IR.

Regards
Hi,

I have been able to reproduce the crash. I will report it to our development team for further investigation.

Thanks,

Rowan

I don't think there is a minidump. Max is just hanging (aka not responding indefinitely).
I can send the scene.
I am pretty sure there is also again a DR problem - at some point the slaves stop updating pases although everything seems ok and they are rendering....
Using 3dsmax 2016 with win7 and slaves with both win 7 and win 10

LE: I have uploaded the scene with the uploader:
1550048975_scena-corp-b-2.zip
And the minidump from processexplorer tool:
1550050041_3dsmax-minidump.zip

Also the bloom and glare, denoise and sharpen where disabled.

Hi,

It is possible to create a minidump for a freeze, the instructions to do this are in my signiture.

If you are able to upload your scene it will be helpful and I can investigate the freezing and the DR problem you are experiancing. The uploader can be found: https://corona-renderer.com/upload

Thanks,

Rowan

Hi. Just saw the uploaded comparisons between NVIDIA's denoiser and the newly added Intel denoiser. This is great. No need for a new expensive NVIDIA card now :)

Thank you!

So, anybody tried Intel's denoiser yet? I was under impression that it is interactive, but apparently it's not. I don't know why Team compared it to Nvidia's solution, i think they shoud've compare it to their own denoiser, but then new kid would loose badly. It takes much more RAM (8GB vs 4,7GB in my quick test) and it gives significantly worse result. The only good thing, that it runs faster (6s vs 41s), but then again, Nvidia's denoiser is almost instantenous. So far, i see no use for Intel's denoiser. Maybe it's not final implementation and things will improve?

Because it's also AI denoiser like Nvivdia's just running on CPU, it should learn noise amount, so it maybe better work in animation?

I think AI is just fancy name. You can easily name Corona denoiser as AI too and judging by the output, it would be one AI to rule them all :]

:) Nice to hear that Coronas denoiser is the "Lord of the AI's", even tho it makes it harder to impress us with new tech ;)

Hi
DB 2019-02-13 some time renders Forest Pack's objects as if their material is pure white in production mode. You can see it on attached picture, white grass there actually has normal grass material. After stop and start render again it renders them correctly, but not always and sometimes after normal rendering it comes back to white material again. 3DS Max Locked during rendering in Corona System Settings

Hi guys - on the latest corona daily after a render is done and starts the 'cleaning up' process, it doesnt complete it and MAX freezes.
anyone else having this issue?

Since yesterday we are having the same issue very, very often! :-(

Thanks,

Dionysios -

Same for me rondomly at end of rendering MAX freeze and only option is to close the process.

Config

dual Xeon 2687v3 64gb ram.

Thanks.

I have the same issue on both my Xeon workstations. I have sent multiple files to Corona team. I have a feeling something isnt playing nice with the xeon architecture. Its got to the point that even if I mouse click on the VFB it freezes for a minute or 2 and sometimes for a very long time. Highly frustrating
