Hello :)

We're really missing the Show Map on Back option of the 3dsmax standard bitmap, when tiling is off ... and we've just tested to use the 3dsmax bitmap with a few objects this option would be useful to be set off, and it seems the option isn't supported by Corona ? I mean, the result is the same with Show Map on Back ON or OFF ... any chance to get it working please ? or should I switch to Feature Request, and ask this option to be implemented in Corona Bitmap instead ?

Thank you.

Regards.

Can you post some examples of what this option does and on/off comparison in Corona and some other renderer where it is supported? I had trouble checking this. I am not familiar with the option, and rendering some objects with scanline did not show any differences for me if it was on/off.

If this is a feature of CBitmap which is not supported in Corona, then I am moving this to feature requests.

@NicolasC: CoronaFrontBack map is no option? It's only the diffuse color which would have to be copied. Of course this would mean another node but would work.

Good Luck

Hello,

Thank for your answers.
@Maru: here you go, simple scene to show the problem. Here is an example with a Vray Blend / a Corona Layered mtl, with the "Logo" bitmap used as mask. I've enclosed the VRay & Corona scenes for you to check if necessary.
@ Frood: it could be a good idea yes, but not in this case I guess :)

Hello there,

Still no news on this feature ... or bug :P Is there any chance to get that solved, please ? either adding this option to Corona Bitmap, or making Corona compatible with 3dsmax standard bitmap's option. Dealing with this is really annoying, forcing to use multi sub-object material for very simple stuff :(

Thanks in advance,

Regards.

Hi Nicolas, sorry for the lack of response. We will definitely look into this ASAP.
Just to make sure I understand how this feature is supposed to work - you can decide whether a bitmap is displayed on the backside or not - right? So you can for example make a bottle label where the logo is showing on one side, but not on the other?
If I still don't get it, could you please share with me a practical example how this can be used?

Right now I think Corona FrontBack map could be used instead.

Exactly ! with 3dsmax standard bitmap, this option is only available when tiling is off though.

About using Corona FrontBack map, it should do the trick, yes, but it makes us add an additional node just for that ... instead o simply unchecking an option like Show Map on Back ;)

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but we desperately need this function implemented in Corona. Any news?

Edit: Actually Nevermind. Just tried Corona Decal for the first time today and its working like a charm. Even on cad. So thanks for this.
