Hello guys, how are you?

I just found a bug when using Atom Array object with Single Elements option enabled and a standard material with displacement.

When the render starts, Cinema 4D crashes.

Screenshot and file attached.

From About:

"Build timestamp: Nov 10 2015 11:16:50
Version: A4.1 (core 1.4 )
Cinema version: CINEMA 4D Studio R16.050 S"

Thanks

No bug... just inexperienced user.
You need a driving license just to join traffic with a car and years of experience to race with Koenigsegg on a track.

Crash is caused by applying displacement material on procedural modifier... put it on an object! Add Light! Render.

corrected - my fault

hahaha you made me laugh with such crap you wrote.

I am not to blame for you not being able to understand the problem description, then I invite you again to read the initial message.
Do this and then come back here again with his unfortunate irony, I allow you.
But the condition is you give me a file that works. It is no use applying displacement in the wrong object and try to teach me how to drive, because this way you are shaming yourself again.
If you need help I can record a tutorial.

I will not be polite again.

No need to be polite because of me. An ass is an ass, even if it wears a tie ;)

Thanks for being honest and pointing out the details.

Single Elements

This option only matters when you make the Atom Array object editable (press the C key or choose Mesh / Conversion / Make Editable).

If the option is enabled, each sphere and cylinder becomes a separate parametric object.
If the option is disabled, a single editable object is created.

Also tested with other engines. Bug with Corona confirmed.
You can take it to Mantis and make a report.

This crash is probably related to the displacement on primitive sphere, which is generated internally in the Atom Array when activated Single Elements.

I was working on another scene and Cinema 4D crashed at the moment I inserted a sphere and applied a Displacement.

So I did another test, and that problem was confirmed:

Sphere+Displacement=crash

This should be fixed in A5 and A5.1 - it was related to similar problem with perfect sphere.
