Hi Ondra,
for the Corona Bitmap to be usable in network rendering scenarios you need to make it so the asset manager capable of collecting the bitmaps and update their paths to new network folders, thanks!

It works, but I'm still getting light/dark bands all over my render, there is not way to achieve a successful render, and as I said no extrange plugins, or textures :P


P.S.: BTW Everything is windows 10 10240 (RTM) insider build fresh install, just max and Corona.

juang3d you need your render notes to be pointing at a network folder that contains all textures which have proper paths in your scene. I got DR to work fine here after I did that.

I came here to complain about the new sun. The old sun was one of the deciding factor in leaving Vray for Corona, as I found it easy to change the sun on the fly while previewing the real time render. it made lightning so easy and I could do micro management of the shadows.

I just installed the released 1.1 on max2016 and tried DR with a node and it works great just make sure not to use vray HDRI and use corona bitmap instead or make sure if you are using vray hdri that all nodes have the latest version. Will try with all my nodes tomorrow:)

Efernando, it is a bug I am having the same issue. Banding doesn't go away with more passes, it gets worse. Missing maps and failing nodes could ruin the process. I have 10 machines and randomly depending on the scene some work some don't. and you need to restart max or the main machine to free up ram especially when Corona crashes it doesn't free up ram properly.
The banding I get is exactly like yours it is a bug since it happens only with max 2016 and corona. same scene renders fine with max 2015 and corona. We need to wait a little So Ondra can fix this. Ondra please pay special attention for DR becuase professionally you can't render at 5000 or 10000 pixels wide without 10 machines helping clients won't wait a week for a rendering to be calculated. Proper DR is the only way to do high resolution renderings in a timely manner!

I think the you know who company spends too much on marketing and too little actually building the stuff that's why I have a useless $1000 plugin from them and since I got Corona I didn't use it Corona does everything I need (except DR doesn't work still in max 2016).
So we need to help advertise for Corona and help Ondra keep it cheap.

if you read my post from yesterday you would find I also had 2 days worth of trouble with corona+forest, but when I changed the forest from manual placement of trees to generate it worked out. all freezes were happening during parsing.

After 2 days of trying everything switching forest from "custom edit" where you place trees manually to "Generate" where they are placed automatically fixed the problem!!!!!!!!!!!

update, still getting parsing errors with max 2015 and forest pro, and corona even the latest build.
but in max 2016 and the latest build I am not getting parsing errors but distributed and network rendering doesn't work (system thinks the jobs are sent as max 2015)

Proper max 2016 installer?

Multithreaded parsing is crashing animation rendering with Corona 1.0.2 and daily build 1.01 if you have forest trees and laubwerks trees (corona materials). Disabling multithreading in the debugger mode fixed the problem.
crash can happen at the first frame or after a few frames. (7 or 8). spent 8 hours testing yesterday until I figured it out.
