Hello,
I'm trying to add a CoronaDistance object for asphalt texture (grey) - a spline that simply is a path for RailClone object and I get the dependency loop error. How do I fix/bypass this? The spline is unrelated to the asphalt material and even if I create a copy it still throws the error.

Hello,

When using converter, Vray multi sub tex does not convert to Corona multi tex...

Anyone know the workaround without just plain doing it by hand ?

But its stupid, my 3ds max units are set to cm and it stays like this. I work with cm in SketchUp and import into Max, and when I want to import materials from libraries not just scales jump off, the material gets fu*ked up, for some reason it no longer renders AO, or renders it very weak, even tho everything is set to normal values. It becomes very noisy like it would render with 99 bump and so on. And its right after importing .3ds file to Max, i dont even get units mismatch prompt, but sometimes materials imported from library work well, sometimes the scale is 3175 as opposed to 100, sometimes its 14.7 as opposed to 100. it feels like units mismatch isn't even the problem.

Also it seems to only affect corona, I never had issues with 3ds max maps like Noise

yeah i always adopt the file scale, but how does that affect the material if you import it after adopting ?

So here is the issue:
You fine tune a material to the point you save it to your material libraries. Then import it when you need it only to have Corona-related values completely different of what was set.

I had a material with triplanar scale of 400cm saved. Then when I import it from library some other day it becomes 7520cm.
Had a material with AO distance of 50cm, saved it and the time I needed it and imported it the value was 3750cm.

It's really frustrating when you have material just the way you like only to corona to mess everything up. Any ideas what causes this ?

So I've been delving more in-depth about the ComplexFresnel usage, as seen most Metals in CMPP2 use it.
R wavelength - 0.650 µm
G wavelength - 0.510 µm
B wavelength - 0.475 µm
Platinum wavelength - 0.002 - 0.121

How do you calculate n and k values for RGB wavelengths when they exceed Platinum's wavelength range ?

So i tried using CoronaTonemapControl to turn off tonemapping of a background in VFB but it still is affected by it.

I tried restarting the render after making changes to Tonemap precedural map but nothing seems to work...

Am i missing something ? or maybe it doesnt work with direct visibility override ?

Want CoronaLightMtl working with LightMix above anything else... ;)
The fact that all LightMtl's are auto-stuffed together into Rest(Unassigned) is annoying
And resolving this could save up a lot of work-around time :)

So, after I've done some searching, i found that my HDR is very concentrated on just a few pixels in the center of the sun. This caused some of those firefies to vanish once i adjusted it in Photoshop.
And since using environment to cast caustics already is double edged sword, note to others: do not use HDR with a very concentrated luminosity/radiance levels. In fact, dont use HDR for caustics at all. :)

At any rate this mildly helps, Anyway maybe there is a way to have caustics overriden to refractions only? I don't really need reflective caustics, i only want the caustics that are visible in pool through water

It renders for around 1 hour, till noise drops to 5%, final resolution 4000x2250 (16.9)

Unfortunately, fireflies appear even when rendering full scene at once.
I've just done some testing enabling "caustics solver" but not checking "Caustics" itself in the material tab, the fireflies are still present

So I've done a quick render with a poll water material having caustics enabled. Everything went good.
Then after client asked to replace people with a more summer attire, i rendered scene and noticed that caustics cause disgusting firefly stains
What is happening? There are no other light sources in scene. I've tried resetting corona settings, converted scene, nothing seems to work.
Any idea what is the problem?
