Great idea by the way :).

Fully procedural garden path with Corona tiles.
Hi everyone !
i have been working on a render for a couple of days now and today i opened the file and start IR(interactive rendering). To my surprise i saw some of the lights messed up. i checked in the model , the rectangular lights i had created were all rotated except one. Moreover i saw in the model that solid black material was turned into a transparent black material. When i opened the material editor and choose pick material to see material properties, it was a solid brown(though the original material was solid black). The material i used was corona legacy material, after reopening the file it was a physical material. Can anyone tell me what's going on?
Hi,
Just noticed a lot of materials still default to metal and was wondering if its in the pipeline to somehow resolve this? Or is there's going to be a global metal or non-metal option in the conversion script?
Thanks!
Hello i need help

Hello,
after installing newest Corona Hotfix 2
Every single time when i open Cosmos Browser from 3dsmax it crashes instantly, 2022,2023 and 2024, every single time. I reinstalled everything 2 times.

When I leave Cosmos browser opened and start new 3dsmax i cant import assets either - i get this message "error importing asset: The selected importer was not found"

Hello again,
I apologize if my second post in the same thread is considered flooding. I wanted to divide the issues into separate posts.
In this post, I want to discuss the missing flexibility of CoronaCurvature. It seems that its usage is currently limited.
For example, in my current project, I need to define convex edges and use them as a mask to generate metal damages and rusty effects.
However, when I apply CoronaCurvature, objects with edges near the front face and within the ray directionality radius start to display backedges on the front faces, causing issues.
This behavior is also observed in the official Corona tutorial, as can be seen here:
https://youtu.be/F95JyIaP5kQ?t=56
Jake presented a cabinet, and when he increased the maximum distance, inner edges began to pop up on the front faces.
Negative values in the "color spread" field do not solve the issue because we lose many convex edges.
It is also interesting to note that when I attach my geometry parts together, CoronaCurvature generates completely different results.
Please take a look at my attachments:
00.The official tutorial has issues too.jpg - screenshot from Jake's tutorial with the same issue.
01.Curvature-only.jpg - CoronaCurvature "sees" the edges that are behind.
03.Curvature-with-texture-plugged.jpg - the same situation with a texture plugged in.
I have also attached my test scene.
Currently, I have not found any way to solve this behavior.
Maybe someone has had the same situation and can recommend some workarounds?
Best regards
At least I am not the only one suffering from this 😁
I can't make Player work though, very strange. I guess I will figure it out somehow.
If I found some free time I will sent a file or two.
Cheers,
Christos
Hi, I think there is problem when using multiple CoronaSky maps in CoronaSelect map.
Clouds look as expected in render background but shadows from clouds behave wrong.
It seems to me that CoronaSky in 0 slot of CoronaSelect map controls clouds amount in all other slots, or something like that.
Same problem happens in corona 9 and latest corona daily build, max 2023.
Simple max scene attached, try changing clouds amount in map0 while map3 is selected as active.
Hello,
I make an animation, a simple traveling on a scene that will go from day to night, with lighting and fire (Phoenix) that lights up as it goes.
I have a problem with the exposure setting.
I am looking to modify the exposure parameters during the animation, as in the interactive Rendering "Simple Exposure", from -1 during the day to 2 at night.
I can't find an exposure modification parameter in the Command Panel
In the CoronaCamera there is no more EV parameter in version 9
Does anyone have a solution? thank you in advance.
Yanosh
I tried Substance plugin in 3ds Max 2023.1 - it renders fine in regular render, but crashes instantly in interactive.
Hi, would it be possible to send us a repro-scene for that? There are a number of issues at the moment that we are bringing to the attention of the Adobe/Substance team. Thanks!
Sorry, i don't have a scene to share, since i never use substance in Max scenes. I tried it briefly, found that it's too slow, unreliable and overall buggy and simply gave up my hopes on using it. However i tried it once more today and while it doesn't crash instantly in Max 2023.2.2 and Corona 9 HF1, i still managed to crash it pretty quickly just by plugging/unplugging maps in material editor while IR was running. And there are loads of other issues, like freezing IR that doesn't even react to restart command, unable to load another sbsar file in the substance 2 node after it has one already loaded. And on top of that the IR is extremely slow, even in most basic teapot scene. In my experience it's completely unusable, i just bake the maps if needed and give up on procedural workflow.
Hi, do you know if there is any way to use Substance with max 2022 and Corona 9?
thank you
