Hi,
I'm on Cinema 4D r21 with Coron 6 hot fix 2

I'm trying to render a simple animation of foliage moving in the wind but i get weird color.
I have removed the reflection of the foliage and my render setting are standard (path tracing, noise limit 6%, no demonising, GI/AA balance set to 8)

What am'i doing wrong ?

Thanks for your help.

Best

That's some really strange flickering, and I can also see that it appears on the other tree on the right side of the screen.
What kind of geometry is the tree? Is it a proxy?

Have you tried disabling the UHD Cache completely and only using Path Tracing as both the primary and the secondary GI solver?

Lastly, please note that while we can offer some support for you regarding Corona 6 Hotfix 2, we will definitely not be able to fix anything in it if this is some bug. As the first step, I would highly suggest updating to Corona 8 Hotfix 1 and then checking if the issue persists: https://corona-renderer.com/download

Hi,
Yes it happens for both trees... No it's not a proxy it's a model (for both tees)
Yes i tried both (PT+UHD and PT+PT), with the same result...

I have also tried to render it with corona 8 hotfix 1 on a render farm (Ranchcomputing) but i get the same result...

Thanks for your help.

How's your leaf material made?
Have you tried overriding materials?
Since flicker only occurs on leaves, test, if a single leaf behaves same. If so, post it here.
If not, isolate whole tree crown & test again.
If issue persists, change environment/lighting, then Camera/tone mapping...

PS
you can render even smaller size, so you can test more, faster - if this flicker occurs, it will stay obvious

@malindis Have you done a test WITHOUT Team Render or Render Farm? For some reason, this type of "flicker" makes me think of different render nodes missing an asset and rendering that one material lighter. Could be wrong, but a good thing to rule out. Does the flicker happen on the same frames every time?

Very curious that the flicker is less and different, or maybe just fewer frames so we only see it for a split second. Did the flicker also happen for the devs?

Hi, what do you mean by devs ???

Same number of frames as the previous animation (just lowered the resolution)

Hi @malindis,
Are you able to share the scene project with us?
If so, please attach it here or preferably create a new support ticket to include the project.
You can use the link on my signature.
Do not forget to include all the assets with your scene project (you can use the C4D's "Save project with assets" option)

I'm curious too...
Tested "similar thing" and all went ok, w/o any strange occurrences.
Thus my advice still stands... gather you wanna learn to solve your issues.

OK, well, as fate would have it, I just experience the exact same issue as @malindis did. See the image for more info, but maybe the issue is with how Corona handles stacked materials in C4D?
