[Max] I need help! / Script error within 3dsmax2021

Hello,

I've installed 3dsmax2021.2, and Corona 6.
When i start it, i get this script error : (see attached).

MAXscript Auto-load Script Error - C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2021\scripts\startup\CoronaRenderer_InitScripts.ms

Any idea ?

I'd like to get a 2.5D / 3D Scatter, like this great plugin for maya :
Maya Structures.

Of course within 3dsMax / Corona Renderer.

[Max] Resolved Bugs / win 7 vs win 10 ?

Not really a bug, but...

With the end of win7 support, i'm thinking about upgrading my renderfarm from win7 to win10.

I've done so on one node for testing :
Upgrade, not fresh install : as those servers are oldies and scecifics, i don't dare a fresh install, i may not find drivezrs, so upgrading is safer.

As you can see, DR render seams faster on win7 than on win10... though win10 uses less ram...
Coincidence ?
did somebody made some tests ?

Hello,

Did not change things, maybeWindows were updated (Win10 on main PC, win7 on renderNodes).

Dr does not work anymore, see pictures.

Any idea ?

Hello,
Quite often i need to render large images for a customer, so i switch on my little rfarm and use the DR render.
But while it renders i'm a bit stuck waiting.
I'd like to tell Corona to render only on DR slaves, not on the host PC, so i can switch to another project / scene to go on modeling / shading / rendering locally.
What if you could put a checkbox : "Use local rendering" - ON by default, but when OFF only DR nodes are busy and your main PC fully available.

It was asked once, and one of you guys told me that it would be possible - nor easy - to implement.

Hello,

It would be usefull to be able to open a picture in the VFB/History, so we could use the very usefull A/B comparison wipe with an old picture, not just rendered.

Possible ?

Hello,

Don't know if it is a bug, but i have a very annoying behaviour here.
The scene is very fast to use, and to render, but after each render, 3dsmax 2020 hangs up for 1-2 minutes (yes, minutes) before it gives me back access.

I can provide the scene, but not on the forum (customers's top secret scene ;-) ), so please tell me how i can send it to you.

Hello,

Material library is great, but it could be fast&simple to get some material preset.
Ok, i have to confess, i've given a fast look at RedShift render : fast (GPU power), but not as good as Corona ;-)
But i've found that the small preset starter for materials is a great idea for beginers. (i'm 3D teacher in highschool, and sometimes it would help).
Pease have a look at the screenshot.

Hello there,

The CoronaSelectMtl is very usefull for me, as i often create products configurators for my customers.
To semi-automatize the output of all colors (for ex), i usually use a multi/sub materials, then i animate the MaterialID with the material modifyer.
It works, but on simple objects / materials.
When i need some multi/sub materials for complex objects, then i can't really animate this way, at least hardly.

So i wish as a request a better CoronaSelectMtl on 2 ways :
- The possibility to have an aditional parameter for the selected material : a spinner so we could animate it and so output all possible materials on a raw;
- a CoronaSelectedMaterial modifyer, so i could animate the SelectedMtl ID, object by object, so i can output more complex raws of pictures with several combinations of materials...

Can you do that ?

When i put CoronaUVrandomizer with multiSub material on losts of objects (here 650, with instances), the MaterialEditor becomes very laggy : each change of a param takes several seconds (10-15) to give hand back.

Also, the initial map is shown in viewport.

Hello there,
Not really a bug, more an annoying limitation :

I have several spots lights to place (standarts, to use nice volume Fx and directionality), in random flashy colors.
But putting a CoronaMultimap in the Map Prjector slot of the spot does not do the tric, whatever the mode i choose (logically "instance" mode)..

Any idea ?

Hi there,
Not really a bug, but an annoying behavior.

I'm used to have a Corona IR as my 4th viewport view.
And i DO have to think about to stop it before i drag&drop a max file to merge.
I understand that Corona does not espect for such changes in the polygons list, but if i don't stop IR first, 3dsmax hangs, then crash.
If it is normal that Corona can't handle new polys list when we merge a scene, maybe you could force the IR stop when you know that we are trying to open or merge a new scene ?

What is it all about ? what settings are ok (default is 60s and 3000000 max pixels) ?
