Hey Keymaster and guys ,

I have a problem as you can see in attached screenshot. My "out of focus" Mac 3d model relects things perfectly clear (as they were if they were in focus) .

Maybe I am doing something wrong? Model problem perhaps ?

Other Mac instances in here show the same problem.

I think it's correct, if the reflected object distance (from camera to mac + mac to object) = focus distance

Check this photo for example : https://www.flickr.com/photos/8188882@N05/7902906804
The mirror is out of focus but not the reflected subject.

If your 'problem' is that one and nothing technical you might have more clear/readable explanation on this thread http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?329555-no-depth-of-field-defocus-with-glossy-shader-(cycles)

I was doubting it might be that.
It is an uncommon thing you must admit :)

Thanks.

adi1: It is correct indeed. You can fake DOF, by increasing glossiness parameter on screen material, to match DOF of camera. It is a lazy trick but will do a job,

Without this, you would never be able to use your SLR's viewfinder. ;)

Appreciate your answers , thanks .

I realize I made a mistake thinking that this was bug.
Seamed like a paradox to me , having a plane that is out of focus (blurred) that reflects things focused.
It is a very unusual and interesting phenomenon and lots of people find it confusing as far as I could see on photography forums.

Well , maybe this post can help someone as confused as I was (before your answers) :)

Thanks for opening my eyes and happy rendering :P
