Thanks Beanzvision! I know the performance settings. I mean something like the corona diplacement modifier. It would be very useful for optimizing animations by keeping the displacement low in general and increasing it only when detail is needed. Let's say a kind of "LOD" for textures (like unreal). I don't know if I was able to explain myself.

This is the intended screenshot of the feature in Max ;) A way to override displacement settings for individual objects, with different settings from the overall scene. I don't think this exists in C4D at present.
