I was pretty sure that this useful feature already requested, but i cannot find it via search. I woul like to know if it's possible to implement render selected feature in corona?
I'm not Corona Team member. Everything i say, is my personal opinion only.

I would like to propose the render selected feature too.
This feature already exist in 3ds Max and Vray 3.0 has this feature too.
It would be great to have it in Corona!
Thanks

The designer can see from his drawings how the final design will look but, unfortunately, not necessarily how it will work.

I have another idea for region render

How about interactive region render
You can chose what to render directly in the buffer while it is working on an image, would be great to focus on one side of the image ...

Could really use "render selected" feature now.. also in near future... Is this planned at least or is it something hard to implement and maybe sometimes in the future?

+1 definitely very usefull option. Would be grat to have "render selected" ability. It's especially useful when you want to re-sample and re-render problematic object/objects. Must have in my opinion.

Regarding to my previous post I thought it's somehow incomplete. Itls good to know what we want and what we don't want.

When I was writing about "render selected" I was thinking about something like this:

1 Select object or group of objects and hit render. It should render only selected objects but with all reflections. (mental ray has this option but it treats every object as "isolated" during rendereing, which means that rendered objects do not reflect things located around them)

2 The second option is lasso type region render (don't know if it's even possible, Ondra?) Sometimes we don't want all unneccessary spece which comes with typical region render. Let's say I want to re-sample just a table and nothing else. Using region render I get the table with legs but also a part of the floor which I don't want to render.

what do you think about it?

Is that what render-selected does in other renderers ? Well that's pretty...useless, I could just isolate selection :- ).

I think everyone wants what you outlined in second illustration, just perhaps without the need to manually select it.
I am absolutely sure I've seen that feature in Arion renderer.
