Hello,
First, Amazing new release! Thanks
denoising does not work with interactive light mix
even when applied in the render element checkbox.

Is it normal?

Hi,

No, it is not normal. Are you sure you enabled denoising for all of the light select elements?

I just tried out a render with light select elements but it didn't apply the denoising to the light select elements, only to the beauty pass. Where is the checkbox to apply the effects to render elements? is it this? Because if so, they were already checked when I did my render but did not apply the denoising. =/

I'm having the same problem, but it works only until I adjust LighMix.
When I render it's all good and denoise works beautifully.  When I adjust anything in LightMix the denoise pass disappears (I assume this is normal).
But when I render again the denoise calculates but will not appear, it stays this way until I restart Max, even in a clean new scene.

Thanks so much
Geoff

Hi all!

Note that when you change anything in LightMix, the VFB automatically switches over to the LightMix view and not the Beauty pass view (you can switch back at any time using the dropdown list). Also, be sure to enable denoising for each LightSelect element, you have to do that for each one individually, then the LightMix view (and individual LightSelect passes) will be denoised.

Also note this applies to 1.5 in 3ds Max - Corona for C4D current daily doesn't have denoising for the LightSelect elements.

mferster, note that filtering is different from Denoising.

YES!! Solved!
Thanks, I didn't realize I the denoise pass was in the Beauty view.  I guess it was working the whole time!

BTW Corona is Magic!

Hi Geoff,

See the screengrab I posted a few posts back, the checkbox is at the bottom of the settings for the LightSelect element.
