What happens if you save the CXR and try adding bloom and glare in the CIE? You could send along the CXR and we can test - or the scene itself too of course, that would be even better :) The private uploader can be used if the scene can't be shared publicly. Thanks!

How does it come out with Bloom and / or Glare above 1, and Threshold below 1?

Looks like a couple of factors come into play here - e.g. if the plane material has no Diffuse, then the effect goes away. The dark area appears related to the area where the Sun is reflected on the plane.

The only way I could see to get around this was to use a CoronaLight material for the Tube object, which had to have Emit Light enabled, and Occlude Other Lights unchecked. (EDIT - which let me have Diffuse from the Sun, and Reflection from the Sun, and Reflection from the Tube, without the artifact appearing)

TY! Just wanted to be sure I understood properly :) Yes, would be nice if IR could catch that it's no longer Corona set as the render engine and stop, or in some other way exit gracefully (or at worst, crash but with a message about why, but hopefully something more friendly than that is possible - that one is over to the devs!)

One thing can be.... before move to new default setting, first set the corona engine then move to that new setting (I mean... small white icon enable after set the corona render engine).

Just so I understand, if you go to the new render setting, and change that to Corona BEFORE switching to that setting, you can then swap to it without a crash? That was my experience - thing is changing to the new setting before switching it to Corona means that IR is running, but Corona is no longer the render engine selected, which could be problematic for the IR since its render engine is no longer there :)

Doesn't happen for me here, performance with a Bitmap or CBitmap dropped into the Env slot of Max is the same (whether I use the U offset or Environ rotate parameter in the CBitmap). I'm using Max 2018, Corona 2 daily build from Feb 8th, dual E5 2690 ("v0").

Out of curiosity, do you get any slowdown for a CBitmap applied to an object and having its mapping adjusted? Or only when it is used as a Max Environment).

Yes, it's the same CIE, as it's a standalone that processes CXR (Corona EXR files), and the CXRs are the same no matter where they come from :) It's also the same program on the Mac. (EDIT - but scripting for batch processing may be different on the Mac)

Not possible with Corona DR itself, as the machine initiating the render is always the master so always takes part in rendering and does all the handing-out and gathering-up of info from the nodes. But yes, can be done using Backburner (or Team Render if you are using Cinema 4D, which doesn't require the use of DR for either "all included machines render one frame" or "each included machine renders its own frame" as it natively supports both approaches; Backburner however only supports the second, and DR is needed to be used as well to get the first solution).

Can you give details on being unable to load it back to resume? Do you get an error message, and at what point does the load fail? You should be able to use resume from file in the VFB (https://help.c4d.corona-renderer.com/support/solutions/articles/12000035761-how-to-pause-and-resume-rendering-with-corona-renderer-for-cinema-4d-). Note that the CXR does not contain history, only the one image in the VFB (or PV) when saving to the CXR.

It doesn't work for me even with a native C4D area and render engine, does anyone have a workflow for that? That's the part I am curious about, whether this works elsewhere in C4D :)

Does work in Max, as noted earlier, so it is possible with Corona Lights, just doesn't work in C4D.

Yep, I can load the scene without the light, and the scene with just the light causes a crash. I wonder if the light became corrupted during the 3ds Max crash  - what happens if you delete just that light and recreate it, does the scene then render as expected locally and over Backburner?

I added a new cylindrical Corona Light to the scene you sent with the old one removed, but of course I have no idea what the old light looked like :) But with a random position, I animated its intensity over frames 920 to 930, and rendered those 10 frames without problems locally and on Backburner.

No, Corona 1.7.3 is 1.7.2 with the Corona Camera changes. The daily build is Corona 2, so it has had the camera changes for a while (people asked for them to be back-ported to 1.7), plus all the other new stuff like Bokeh, toolbar, and everything else from the Corona Renderer 2 changelog :)

Still not understanding the feature request, sorry :(

The checkbox that is there already is named correctly, but is not working like it should (and like it does in Max), so that part remains a bug. Beyond that, not sure what feature is being requested?
