As the article notes though, this is only for Corona 7 and older, you didn't mention which version of Corona you are using, so if it is 8 or newer, then go straight to raising the ticket as romullus mentions.

Id love a method of varying the volume density in 3d to simulate uneven atmospherics.

This can be done already with the Corona Volume material, switch to Inside Volume mode and a 3D noise can be fed into any of the channels - if you mean something else, please specify :)

Can you post images showing your results, and perhaps most importantly some screengrabs of the shadowcatcher settings and something of the scene set up? May just be me but I don't fully grasp what is happening for you from the description (also, you could submit a ticket and send in the scene, that way we can see everything directly :) )

Please explain more about what does not work now, it works for me here, just with the new click and drag functionality rather than the click then click. Where do you have the Tint in the tone mapping stack?

Can you explain, and preferably show, what you mean by "really weird"? Works as it did before here, other than the click and drag from the dropper into the image being the new process which allows selecting anything on screen vs. previous two click method which if I remember right meant you could only click inside Max itself.

We'd need a bit more info, maybe even the scene would be best, as it depends on what the UVW Randomizer is being used on (e.g. the IDs of the objects may be forever changing on a reload depending on what they are and how they are generated). Also, I would certainly try it with the final release, preferably HF 1 of course, certainly not with an RC where things can certainly be buggy or broken, in case this is some issue that was already resolved to save either you or us chasing ghosts :)

Please say which version of Max, which version of Corona, and which assets (you can post their name). Looks like a known issue where the IOR is too high, making them shiny, temporarily you can manually reduce the IOR after import.

Actually, the water mesh should be slightly larger and so interpenetrate the glass mesh - I am not sure if that's what you mean by "not touching" but it does sound like you made it smaller than the glass mesh, which would be something to change for an accurate render (not sure it would make any difference to the flickering though, but doesn't hurt to try!)

We'd also like to point out the meaning of this scene, created in 2016 (https://blog.corona-renderer.com/corona-1-3-benchmark/ ), as it shows the vehicle in an abandoned state, with a flat tire, worn out, and with a peace symbol daubed on it, all acting as a symbol of post-communist peace/demilitarization in the Czech Republic. In fact, CZ still uses this same equipment. Thus the message of this scene would in fact be very much in line with support for Ukraine. Current situations should not change artistic expression in something that is only tenuously linked to current affairs, certainly not in existing scenes that already had a message and intent that is clear and has no negative associations.

All that said, it would not be possible to "replace" the scene in the benchmark, since it is compiled into the benchmark - it would take an entirely new benchmark. The good news is that this is already planned, simply because the existing scene is no longer complex or demanding enough to give significant differentiation between the latest generations of very fast processors. No date can be given on when this will be released though, could be some time yet, but it is in the works and the scene or scenes included will be all new.

We'd need some more info - version of Max, version of Corona (please give version, not "latest", in case what you think is latest is not in fact the latest ;) ), and some scene settings, for example were you rendering to a noise target and if so what was the target, was denoising used?
