Hi all!

We like to hear what your most requested features are, but it would also help us set the direction for future development by hearing what your most liked existing features are.

If there is a feature that is your favorite which is not listed, please post it as a comment under the poll. Also, feel free to tell us why you voted for the features you choose - is it that they save you the most time? That they let you be more creative and expressive? That you use them many times every day and have come to rely on them?

The items are in no particular order (other than Corona 6 features on top), so please read through them all. We haven't set a limit on how many you can pick as favorites, so that is left up to you.

Thanks for your time in taking part!

Corona Renderer 6 for Cinema 4d released!

This time around we’ve focused on giving you the tools to attain greater realism and be more creative, while also speeding up your workflow.

Full details and download: https://blog.corona-renderer.com/corona-renderer-6-for-cinema-4d-released/

Some of the highlights:

- New Sky Model has better overall tint to the lighting in daytime, and supports the sun being below the horizon for dawn/twilight effects
- Randomized Tiling in the UvwRandomizer lets you avoid the “repeating pattern” look that even seamless textures can have
- New Lens Effects give you vastly more control over bloom & glare
- The Corona Distance shader lets you create “smart” materials that know how far away they are from objects in the scene. Use this to add waves around a coastline, wear-and-tear where objects meet, dirt and noise under window sills, and more
- New Adaptive Environment Sampler removes the need for Portals, saving you the time (and pain!) of setting those up, while giving more accurate results
- The VFB can now be set to use the same color space that Cinema 4D uses in the native Picture Viewer, perfect for when you are batch rendering or rendering an animation
- New Masking options that work in reflections and refractions giving you greater control in post
- Node Editor Fixes giving greater stability, so you can safely make the most of what the Corona Node Editor adds to Cinema 4D
- And of course many other smaller UI improvements, workflow tweaks, bug fixes, optimizations, and more!

For those of you who have tried Corona before and your 45-day trial expired, we've automatically refreshed the demo period to give everyone an extra 14 days so you can try out all the new features! Simply download and install Corona Renderer 6, and you can activate the refreshed demo period right from within Cinema 4D. Enjoy!

Suspension of Corona Renderer for ARCHICAD development

We're sorry to have to announce the suspension of development on Corona Renderer for ARCHICAD. Our apologies to our Corona Renderer for ARCHICAD users, please know that we share your disappointment and that this was a very difficult decision for us to take. We've kept working on this as long as possible - right up to releasing a new daily build on Monday March 23rd - in the hopes that we could find a way to continue development without any interruption, but that has proven impossible.

The primary cause is finding enough good developers and related staff - this is hard at the best of times, and in the current world situation, is tougher than ever (by the way, if you know of anyone who has found themselves looking for work due to a change in circumstances, send them to https://corona-renderer.com/about/jobs ). Alex has done an amazing job in carrying the development through to its current advanced stage, but to push further forward and move toward an actual release, we'd need a larger team, and that is just not going to happen at the moment.

After re-evaluating our strategies and plans in the current environment, we've decided to move Alex on to the Core team, and pause the development for ARCHICAD for an unknown amount of time.

Please note that this is specific to Corona Renderer for ARCHICAD only. Corona Renderer for 3ds Max and Corona Renderer for Cinema 4D are unaffected, as is the company as a whole, and development on those is continuing with no change.

Meantime, if you are a developer, or have skills in QA, support, project management, etc., do please visit our jobs page at https://corona-renderer.com/about/jobs and get in touch with us. Even if hiring is impacted right now by travel restrictions etc., we can keep your information on file for when things return to normal.

It's come to our attention that several users have received emails claiming to be related to Corona Academy, with the wording "My name is XXX,(corona-academy.com) i have an important issue to discuss with you". These emails are spam, do not reply to them.

You can recognize them because:
- They do not come from an official Corona email address (the ones so far have been from a regular gmail account)
- They have bad punctuation and grammar.
- They don't tell you what the issue is (we would tell you why we were writing to you :) ).
- They do not have the official signature information at the bottom of the email.

Remember, if you have any questions or doubt about an email, you can always contact support to ask for verification BEFORE replying to the questionable email.
