[Max] Feature Requests / button to save the secondary GI

Hi,

it would be nice if you could add a button in the UI to save the secondary GI. Until now there is only a checkbox to save it. With a save button you could also save the data manually and in some cases this is useful.

Let's wait and see how the development will advance. At the moment there is no known renderer on the market which is developped for co processor Xeon Phi. Perhaps a good chance for your futher development.

but if these limitations won't exist further how difficult is it compile your code to Xeon Phi? Think of the idea "corona renderer - first Xeon Phi based renderer". This would be a powerful tool on the market.

Can you say something to your used render settings:

-number of passes
-number of path tracing samples
-light samples multiplier & texture resolution
-use of image filter
-standard noise reduction in photoshop
-hd cache precomp density & pt samples
-time to render one frame at 1920px

We can do this - plus more exotical stuff like distributed rendering - and you can completely remote control your renderfarm and applications by yourself. For more informations please contact me by email to info@prorender.de. As our internetsite with comprehensive descriptions is only in german you can easily translate it with google translation tool. Besides we are speaking english and french.

Hi,

I made some testing with the settings of sampling, passes, image resolution.

I could find out that

..increasing the path tracing samples reduces noise and leads to better image quality
..increasing the rendering passes reduces noise and leads to better image quality
..increasing the image resolution it's possible to lower the path tracing samples and/or rendering passes.

Can someone explain exactly the context between the three mentiond settings.

What are good settings for resolutions from width 800pix to 1600pix? What for resolutions from width 2000pix to 4000pix and what for greater than 4000pix?

Another question: Is HD Cache view dependant or not?

as I know distributed rendering will be developed soon. But to use a distributed method right now I found 2 ways to do it manually.

The way to do it is just simple:
Method A / Batch Script Rendering with Standalone Version

Method B / Network Rendering
