Ongoing since update. Compact Material editor:

-Select obj. for material extract
-material editor, click: select from scene
-go to material browser, look @ scene material (filtered)
-(it is not current material)
-Needs a double click (on Scene material header ) to update.

Corona Version: 4 DB Apr 5 max2019

Retail Illustrator  (for ever' 80's )

In the video; after selecting new object in scene, [material editor] scene material does not (auto)update.

Because you don't show it in the video: are you sure you have "Auto update" activated (RMB on "Scene Materials" -> "Auto Update")?
