So it looks like the corona white screen freeze has resurfaced in the latest build for me. Using Dual Xeon CPU's. The previous daily seemed a little better but its back, in IR and in full Render. Changing render elements while rendering spins it out and takes minutes (up to 20) to recover. I have already sent 3 scenes to Corona with this issue. Also not a graphics or CPU issue as I can easlily open other programs and work in them when it has frozen plus I have 64Gb Memory and a GTX 1080 installed.

I appreciate that this must be really frustrating but I'm still currently unable to reproduce this issue.

Would you be able to upload another scene for me please? Could you also please produce a minidump from the freeze and send it to me? (Instructions on how to do this are in my signiture).

Thanks Rowan,

I have reverted back to the previous build for the week as I have a few deadlines but will try get you another scene and mini dump as soon as possible. Are you checking the scenes I send over on a Xeon machine as I have seen a few people post in the forums regarding Xeon and the screen freeze issue so its not just me ?

Are you sure this is related to dual Xeon systems?

Gonna try on my system, with the latest daily and let you know if this happens on my side (dual 2696v4 here). So all I have to do is to switch between render elements while rendering?

edit: I tried and everything is working fine on my side, in both final render and IR

Thanks for trying, I use dual 2670v3 and dual 2698 and both have the issue. I remember seeing a few people commenting on having the same issue with their Xeons so thought it may be CPU related as I haven’t seen much about it from regular CPU users . What I can’t get my head around is sometimes a scene will act up and then the next day it won’t, then will start acting up again and then won’t for a few days.? Can’t figure it out myself but can be very frustrating.

I don't know if it is related to new build. But max freezes on saving render manualy on render end if bloom and glare is enabled.

Disabling bloom and glare debugs isue. Also there is no such problem if the batch render is used and and render saves automaticaly. Problem ocures only when saving from VFB.

In latest build, Corona shows warning message about AI denoising and HQ filtering incompatibility, but despite that rendering is progressing without further explanation on what is going on, is it denoising is being ignored or filtering is reverted todefault. I think further explanation is needed in warning message.

If that's the case, then clarification is needed even more. But i have a feeling, that it simply turns off HQ filtering.

my max closed immediately without any warning or even autodesk crash report when right click a file image (jpg,png,etc) in open bitmap dialog while IR running. i checked task manager after error occur, and i found no 3dsMax.
anybody experience this weird error?

Hi Im having an issue with any of the daily builds.
I dont know if this is expected and will be solved when the stable release is out.

I cannot load lightmix values in the Corona Image Editor.
I always get a error

Settings cannot be loaded. Error in.conf file
'D:/...........
(line 3): invalid array value declaration.
Whole line: BoolArray colorMap.lightmixEnabledLayers   = true, true, .......

Did any of you try the new caustics solver yet?

I did give it a try in several scenes with the correct settings (in material and render settings) and can't spot any caustics so far...
