Hey guys,

we use Corona Release 4 and figured out a problem with an animation scene.
The scene is built with Motion Clips, contraints, ik etc.

Normal render produces expected results but when we use IR the whole image is black.

I would like to provide the scene via private uploader, just need the link.

Hey guys...

I have a question about adding god rays.
Usually I put a volume material to the environment slot and set absorption/scattering and let it do it's thing. So far so good.
BUT, the more god ray effect I wanna bring in, the darker the overall lighting becomes... Yes, it is kinda natural and probably physically correct.
In Vray you just add the fog effect on top, I never saw a darkening effect when I used Vray Fog.
So my question is:
Is there a way to just add the rays without darkening the overall lighting or render 2 images/sequences and comp it togehter in post?

Hi guys, I have a special request. I want to generate a mask for discplacement with AO, the AO should be generated from a moving mesh. So far so good, the prob is, that this moving mesh is at least visible in shadows and not only for creating the AO. Does anybody know how to setup it up that it only effects the AO and nothing more?

Hey guys,

we have a little problem here.
We need to use cinema 4D native materials in our texture and shading process.
When we hit the render button, the native c4d material gets converted instantly into a corona material and you can't use that in bodypaint.
Is there a checkbox to tell corona stop doing this?

Hey guys, I have another question.

I was checking the motion in the last daily built and I have encountered a situation which might need some attention.

When I get it right, Corona is reading the average noise limit of the entire image.
That can cause in some really noisy parts of the image which would need more passes to clean upn properly.
Is there a way to set corona up to avoid this or are there any plans to tell corona handle such areas with a bit more attention?

Btw. motion blur doesnt cause crashed anymore right now, but it is still kinda buggy.

Hi guys,

I have a simple question.
I created geometry and I wanna render it with a parallel camera to create maps from it.
So far so good, but the rendered normal map looks strange, completely different from all other normal maps I know (mostly green, usually they look mostly blueish).

Hopefully somebody can gimme an advice!

[Max] Feature Requests / Analysing image noise

Dear Corona developers,

as I discussed with one of your colleagues at discord, I would like to know whether the following is possible or not.

analysing the image noise for each frame at the beginning will cost a relative high amount of time, but after a lot of passes, lets say 35, the relative amount is really small and could save a lot of time when it's done each frame because you don't have to wait 5 more long rendering passes.
how about telling corona to analyse the image more often when corona gets closer to the setup noise limit... let's say it starts with every 5th frame and has a limit of 4%, after maybe 10 passes the noise limit get's closer, maybe 6%, at this point corona should analyse the image every 3rd frame. rendering is going on and after 16 passes the noise limit is around 4,3%, here it starts to analyse every other frame for example.
long story short, the closer the rendering gets to the set noise limit, the more often the image should be calculated.

[C4D] General Discussion / Parsing Scene doesn't stop

Hey guys, I have prob which I thought was gone.
I have a character which is rigged and have to be posed for stills. When I try to set up my scene and use interactive renderer it stucks in a loop between parsing scene and rendering initial pass.
Can somebody tell me how to avoid that without kicking the rig?

Good morning everybody.

Thx for your great developement.
I figured out that the bump amount (perventage) produces the same result in IR, no matter what value you put in, even at 0% it produces the same result.

Further more I have a question about the bump.
As I am used to shade in vray, I ask myself what that percentage value stands for. For example the default value is 10%, but 10% from what, one meter or centimeter or ...?
Would be good to know that for better shader understanding.
