Hi everyone,

I recently downloaded Corona 5 for Cinema 4D. So far it's been great, but I came across a problem on my most recent project : Corona only renders light coming from a Corona Sun, a Corona Sky or a Sky from C4D.
Any other light object, such as lights from C4D or Corona lights, aren't rendered. They appear in the C4D Editor but as soon as I try to render the scene or even previzualize the render in Corona's Interactive Rendering, they don't show and aren't rendered.

Also, Corona doesn't seem to render C4D's lights.

Does anybody know from where the problem could come ?

Hi balibarre84!

If you could upload a small scene here that you created (ready to render) it would be easier to spot what is causing your problems.
All kinds of lights render fine with Corona, so there must be an issue that would be hard to guess otherwise (like exposure issues or wrong direction or whatever).

Thanks for your reply !

Here is a scene I was working on yesterday, it is a simple one with a spaceship crashed into the desert. nothing too complicated (I think). We can see in the Cinema 4D editor view that I have my elements, a Corona Sky and 2 corona lights positioned to be visible by the camera.

However, in the rendered scene there is only the diminished light of the Corona Sky and the 2 Corona Lights are nowhere to be seen, which bugs me out. I also tried to add a Physical Sky from C4D but it crashed Corona, because of NaNs.

A picture is worth a thousand words but a scene file would be talking and talking and talking ...

If you had attached your scene instead of some screenshots you would have got a definite answer, so I need to guess.
I assume your light is too weak for the scene size.
So I suggest to try the following:
-Add a Corona camera tag to your camera.
-Switch off your sky.
-Start the IR.
-Now either increase the intensity of your light (boldly, it may take quite some to get a result) or in your Corona camera tag, increase your exposure (see screenshot).
You will have to adjust your sky after switching it back on, it will likely overexpose everything.
Find attached a scene ready to play with.

If this does not help, really attach a scene.

Michael

PS
My guess would be an Exposure (EV) of 0 and a light with 25,000 units intensity.
There are other ways to set this up, this is just how I would do it.
The native Physical Sky of C4D is not (really) supported. Use Corona objects and materials as often as possible (in other words: always!) to avoid trouble.

What if you increase the size of your lights?
